[The video feed flips on, focusing (after a few seconds of jostling around) on Galadriel, sitting on the steps of the Initiative Hold, her sheathed sword beside her. Having just finished training, she’s attired appropriately, wearing a simple dress and with her hair braided and wound about her head- displaying those pointed ears quite prominently for those who might have missed them before.]

I grow weary of the constant grey here. It is overlong since I have heard a running stream or seen the sunlight filtered through the forest canopy.

Tell me, those of you who have journeyed outside this city: does greenery yet remain in this world? It would do my heart well even to hear of it.

[The more connected you are to something, the more you are free to joke about it, in a way. She takes nature utterly serious and that's why she can poke fun at her own reactions to it.]

I can use a bow if I wish. But it is not my weapon of choice.

[It's a pretty normal longsword, the only thing truly remarkable about it is the decoration she has added to the sheathe: leaves framing a heraldic device.]

[ A sword is a sword to Caesar. The marking on the sheathe garners a second of interest of its own, but that's all. ]

The Sindar and Silvan elves are more known for their archery; I have lived among them for many years, but I, myself, am Noldor. My father's people are known for their skill with swords- both in the use of them and in their creation.

[She gives a little smile.] I make no claim to mastery of either, of course, and I would prefer to forgo their use entirely.

So, what, are we talking different kingdoms of elves here or just different little villages?

[ Trying to line up all these other weird elves with what he knows about his own world's elves. They can't be all that different, right? ]

Though that's too bad. People always go for those weird foreign-made weapons. You would've cornered the market if you were some fancy elven blacksmith. [ A glance is given back towards the city beyond the hold. ] Well, if this place even had a market for swords.

It is less a matter of realms and more a matter of heritage.

[A little smile] I once had a friend who fit that description.

Cultures, more like. [If she knew the term "ethnicities," she might use that. And, man. It would be awkward if Celebrimbor showed up. Unrequited love is so uncomfortable.]

Perhaps. They do seem to have a fondness for my kith and kin as of late.

Not all, no. My cousin was here for a time and my granddaughter and her father remain here still. That is all. [Until next intro log, when her daughter will show up...]

Lucky you. Some of those other elves seem pretty obnoxious... [ And loud and easily angered. ] Though I sure hope that thing doesn't make it a habit to pull in family for people.

Tsk. "Potential for heroism" could cover a lot of people I wouldn't want to see here... and it's broken, so it likely doesn't even stick to that!

[ He shakes his head and finally gets moving again, stepping up onto the stairs and past her. ]
