When is revenge justified? If given the chance to get revenge on someone who's wronged you, would you take it? What would you do if you couldn't?

For the sake of extending the olive branch first, here's mine.
When is revenge justified? When you have the legal backing to ensure the people responsible for committing a given crime face the full consequences of their actions. Vigilante vengeance is another injustice seen as a quick fix to a deeper, more pervasive problem.
When I find the means of exposing the truth, there's no room for hesitation. If I can't hold someone accountable for what they've done in that moment where I have the evidence and the support on my side, I will find a way around to where I can. If that's completely impossible... I suppose I'll continue on and do what I can to make sure people aren't unjustly punished for what they didn't do, and justly punished for what they have done.
In short: one act doesn't define what gives a life it's value and worth. Preventing what has happened to you from happening to others may carry more weight than the satisfaction of making someone pay for the things you've lived through.

That's a very good answer.

One must be better than the ones who wrong them. And even if the person was quite evil, one must learn to forgive. That is the only way to break from a never ending cycle and rise above it.

i had a chance twice to punish someone who did bad things to me. but i knew taking that action could have terrible consequences. not just for me. so i didn't do it. sometimes i wake up at night wondering if i swas wrong, but thats how it went down and i cant change it. i wouldnt if i could. its not only me i gotta think about, after all. it doesnt make any sense to continue hurting others because u have been hurt. even if that person hurt u. it is still harming someone out of spite. it serves no purpose.
because what happened happened and that cant be taken back
anyway
i just dont think about it much. thats what i do.
i find a reason to smile every day. im still alive, after all. theres no point in dwelling on what cant be changed. to much work to do instead. always others needing help. needh elp more than need violence. so i just hope i can be of use to others..

It was not justified. I'd done wrong. It was a result of faulty memory. Those I swore revenge on were, in fact, those I had to protect.
Revenge, however...
Whether or not I approve of the subject would depend entirely on the situation. There are far too many factors for a general 'yes or no' answer.
