[The man in the video is sitting on the ground, leaning against a wall in the catacombs. There are voices in the background, sounds of people gathering their belongings to move back to the world above. He doesn't have much with him, just the notebook and the blanket he's sitting on, since his knife is safely hidden in his belt behind his back. His bare, tattooed arms are covered in cuts and rope-burns, but since it's been over a day now, he's cleaned off the blood as best he could given the circumstances. They are slowly beginning to heal, and in the process have gone from stinging mostly to itching uncomfortably, so that every now and then, he reaches over and briefly rubs the skin next to one of them, to distract himself from the sensation.]
[But for now, his attention's focused on the notebook, as he's trying to figure out theseverely outdated, by his world's standards technology.]

Usually people ask for the nearest bar and brothel, after getting told that the Initiative are fighting a war in time with our help. The United Earth is their target and what remains of this planet is something they also wish to reverse. the Initiative are not some great evil as many will claim, but they are not without their own sins.
Let's see... The weapons do gain skills as you use it; it will act with you commands and develop tricks to help your own weaknesses and within their structure. However, if you do not use it, it will 'die'.

Who are the Initiative, anyway? Rebels, former military? Politicians in exile? Local government remnants? Is this an insurrection, a real war, or a coup? I'd like to know if I'm enlisted by someone official or by rebels and terrorists.

A rebelling force, the remains of what was an army assembled to defeat the United Earth a century ago. I believe that the Initiative are the leaders of the rest of the people here through their ability to make this country livable and to keep them from killing each other off. From what little remains of their histories that had not been censored, they were those politicians that had refused to be merged with the ruling body of the UE and tried to overthrow them.
I believe this is an quiet rebellion.

[Not looking good, not against something that's calling itself the United Earth. And for a moment, he isn't even sure he wants to fight against, well. Earth. But that's not something he can say so easily. He has another angle to play, though - it's suited him well enough when talking to Vasja, and it suits him now, playing the mercenary.]

Yes. Time was not a friend of theirs.

They wish to restore this world to something far more livable. To bring back the plants and the wildlife and the other countries destroyed in all the fighting. Of course, many think that they are only telling lies, but from what I have seen... I do not think that the work in time is not all fake.

A roman army standing against a miss-mash of people armed with technology, a set of pirates who rotted as they readied their arms. When we returned each time, stories int eh past shifted, things that were gone started making appearances again. And the Masked are weaker now then they were when they first came here.

We went first back into time to fight a Roman legion. The second time I had gone we were in the time of pirates and sea faring. Others talked about punching dinosaurs and trying out mushrooms grown by hippies in Woodstock.
