[ The video starts black. Light cuts through in sharp lines, edging in around blades of grass. No, make that fur.

Fur that gains color into browns as it shifts away from blocking the camera's eye. The rabbit hops away down the table, disappearing for a minute. Two. When it comes back in view, it appears to be wearing tiny, lens-free glasses perched precariously on its twitching nose.

The rabbit sits back on its hind legs, ears swiveling forward and paws tucking close to its chest. When it glances toward the camera, it's almost like the rabbit winks. But it couldn't have.

Could it? ]

[ Collette bets Franziska has never skinned a rabbit in her life. She sits back up, paws tucked up against her chest, looking around to see if that voice resolves into anyone here. Nope. Still just movement on this screen.

Collette wanders to one side, half off camera, then all the way off. She emerges again sniffing along the frame of the netbook.

She has no idea what image that's broadcasting, but Franziska's talking about Rabbit Cassolette, it probably doesn't matter.

One of those times around, she 'attempts' to nibble on Franziska's finger. Collette idly wonders if they have any carrots around. Maybe a salad... salad isn't her favorite, but it was also easy to make, and hard to screw up. ]

No. Bad rabbit. My glove is not a carrot.

[ Collette snorts, drawing back and laughing mentally. Depending on if Franziska was in the building or not, she might hear that laughter -- in her mind. ]

...! How dare you! It's rude to laugh at others, you foolish creature!

[ That would be the biggest issue here. ]

< If you were laughing too, I'd be laughing along with you. >

[ She points this out sensibly, nodding her head and letting one ear fall to the left, listening down the hall, and the other stay focused forward. ]

And I wasn't. That's a lousy excuse.

[ One she sounds upbeat over. Her nose wriggles, whiskers as well, and she seems to settle down to 'talk.' ]

< Besides, it's rude to tell someone they're pretty much only good for eating. At least acknowledge a rabbit can be lucky, or be nice for lining gloves, too! >

No. Rabbit fur would clash with my outfit and luck doesn't count for anything. Only foolish fools with no foolishly foolish redeeming qualities foolishly rely on something as foolish as luck.

[ Not cute anymore, bunny. She takes that back. ]

< I knew there were more reasons than just the one for why I like you! At least if you go around hunting down rabbits, it'll just be for eating. Though I don't think you should do much of that around here. The wildlife doesn't look so healthy. >

Right. While I'd love nothing more than to engage in more foolishly idle banter [ no she wouldn't ], we really must find your owner.

< I object to that! I don't have an owner. Not even a co-owner. >

< This is totally the first time anyone's tried to sell me. Hahaha! Sorry Franziska, I don't think they have a pet store even if you did want to take me there. And I'm a little anti-cages. Actually, I'm seriously against caging without consent! >

You don't have a choice in this matter. Your animal rights can only get you so far.

< I'm afraid I'm going to have to make a bid for human rights. No, sentient rights! A rabbit capable of deductive thinking and creative thought deserves equal access to the rights and civil liberties of all other sentient beings in this place. Like the aliens! And like you! >

[ She was trying very, very hard not to laugh. ]

< Yep. Did you see those glasses I had on? I had to make those myself! >

You can't wear glasses! You're a rabbit. They don't design glasses to hang from your rabbit ears.

< I know! It's really bothersome, and it's why I had to make them myself. Do you have any idea how long it took me to find a decent pair of needle-nose pliers someone would sell me? >

[ The rabbit shakes its head. ]

You can't use pliers. You don't have opposable thumbs.

< Not right now I don't! I didn't make glasses while a rabbit, that'd be silly! >

[ The rabbit sits up, doing its best to clap its paws together. ]
