I dinnae what a 'netbook' is. The wee woman wasnae very helpful ...

[There are sounds of movement from the netbook, but the picture is dark. It takes a moment or two of rustling around before something comes into view. It's blurred from quick movement, and then an eye appears, filling the screen. It's brown.]

What are ye, now? [The voice is male with a Scottish accent. The picture pulls back to show a man's face; wild dark blonde hair with grey at the temples, a mustache and soul patch that's serving for a beard, and a scowl that conveys a great deal of attention paid to the netbook.]

Magical box. With voices! Well, bugger me. At least it's got a wee typewriter attached.

Considering that the current year is 3312, then it could be considered as such, yes. However, similar designs were common in my own reality, and the year there was only 2012.

[Swann straightens up.]

Lovely you should ask! I, Dr. Kingdom Diogenes Swann, am a doctor of medicine and chemistry, purveyor of fine elixirs and potions of which the like has never been seen! Even one sip of my fine medicines will take away even the most horrific pain!

Well, I've not any with me at the moment.

[ Reminds her of something out of an As Seen on TV ad, only he has much more character. ]

Though if you're calling me a fairy, that has to be a first. Nope! No real magic involved here. Just lots of talking pictures. Kind of like paintings, only more life-like and real time.

[ Cheerfully oblivious to the lack of sense she is likely still making. ]

Perhaps not. Seems magical to me. [There's magic in her world, too. And there's no reason why this technology couldn't just be an evolution.]

I've heard this before from someone else. That people don't acknowledge magic's existence anymore. [It's such a foreign concept to her. Even after the Witching Wars, witches weren't banished and forgotten; new rules were just put in place.]
