Well, it's not much, but at least there's some direction. And it gets you away from the things going down in your... world for awhile.

[Yeah, the whole 'world' thing is a pretty new concept. Not quite sure how he feels about that one.

And really, not that he's generally one to look on the bright side- but where Isaac comes from, getting away from his world means getting away from the 99% of the population that seemed to want to kill him at any given moment. And with the added bonus of the whole missing-slash-fugitive status gone? It's enough to at least give this place the benefit of a doubt.]

So I got the official story- what's it actually like here?

[Simple, a little bit demanding.]

[ She finds herself laughing again. Hey, that was rich! She'd never gotten a chance to meet their third roommate before -- now she and Lym were getting Isaac. ]

All the apartments are three bedrooms, and the view from the fourth floor isn't bad for being here in the general Hold area. You might like it! We've got the elevator just down the hall, and then stairs, too. The main lobby to this place isn't half bad. If you want to get to the training gyms, they're right near-by. They've got a great pool on top of whatever else is stashed away for their army of kidnapped and armed refugees.

Oh, and one other thing.

[ She gives him a two fingered salute, tapping her fingers on her forehead before flicking them toward the netbook. Her lips have curled up into a particularly amused grin. ]

Nice to meet you, roomie.

[He nods, sort of taking all of that in and... well, it doesn't sound too terribly bad. He's never really had roommates before, save for the whole... abandoned subway with Derek and Erica and Boyd thing, but actual, nonwerewolf roommates are something that he isn't sure he has much experience in.

Still. Better than where he was before.]

Oh! You live there too? [A nice little surprise- she's probably the least-strange person he's met here so far, at any rate.] I guess I'm in luck, then. Any bad habits I should know about?

I like talking and I have little to no respect for privacy eighty five percent of the time?

[ She winks, seemingly teasing. How much of that's truthful remains to be seen. ]

Not really, no. We're living with a Queen -- Lym, she's younger than us -- and about the only annoying roommate request I have is you don't leave things lying around on the floor. Any chance you know how to cook?

[He offers her a tight-lipped smile, still not quite sure about this whole roommate thing.]

Privacy might be an issue. I'm fond of it.

['Fond' might be putting it lightly. Sorry, Collette, but your new roomie turns into a bloodlusting psychopath once a month and any time his heart gets set racing. So good luck with not frustrating him.]

But I'll keep my stuff to myself. And my cooking is... not the best, but I can survive with it.

All three of us are so going to need to learn how to cook something half-way decent.

[ She blithely ignores any statements on privacy. Better to not make promises she might not keep -- if she was reasonable. She'd always knock first. ]

Well- there's books, right? I'm sure there's something we can work with.

[He looks a little skeptical at the silence- Collette might just find herself face to face with a werewolf if she's not careful.]

Which reminds me- is there internet here? I'm sure we can find tutorials online.

There aren't all that many books, actually. There's a bunch of electronic books, so if we load stuff up from the library, we'd be set! I'm not sure about the internet. We've got this network, but that's -- just us. I haven't tried getting on to anything else and connecting to what's out there. If there's anything.

[That seems a little difficult, but he's sure he can manage.]

I'll look into the internet, then. It should still exist in some form, anyway. Other than that, I guess we can use books.

I'll look into what the library has. This'll be great! What's the worst that could happen? The stove's electric, so we can't make anything explode.

...I'm pretty sure you can still set things on fire with an electric stove.

But make things explode?

That's only a little bit more dangerous.

[He pauses.]

How would you make things explode with a normal stove?

I'm not sure, but isn't there a whole bunch of urban legends around gas stoves?

I never paid too much attention.

[That unsettles him a little, and Isaac is suddenly glad for the electric stove.]

Good thing we won't have to find out!

[ She grins, wondering at what native urban legends might be around. ]

Though hey, what about ghosts?

...ghosts? As in, we have them?

[That's a little disconcerting. Hey though, after werewolves, Isaac will give anything a second thought.]

I'm not one hundred percent, but I have a strong feeling we do.

[ Magic's real around here, and she's seen some amazing sorts of people. Ghosts aren't off the table of possibilities! ]

[ Ah, she was really just kidding. Isaac sounds somewhat worried at the idea of ghosts as real things out and about. Collette's pretty sure they must be, considering the rest of what's here and that one guy talking about demons. It didn't mean she had to worry the new guy about it. He looked like the sort who grabbed up all the apprehension he could stumble across!

(Not quite, but it sounded like a good enough excuse in her mind.) ]

I'm just kidding, I haven't met any ghosts yet. I can pretty much guarantee our apartment is 100% spook free.

[He offers her a smile- it's not entirely genuine, but it's not like he was actually scared or anything. Just tired of dealing with stupid supernatural stuff.

Any household rules I should know about?

Keep the clutter off the floors, and that's about the sum of it! Oh, and don't put all the glasses and plates back into the cupboards. It's a total hassle to get up there every time I want to pretend I'm civilized.

[ She winks, knowing that will make less sense without context for the why. ]

[YEAH HE PRETTY MUCH HAS NO CLUE.]
