[There's a pair of big brown eyes - and just that - peering very, very closely into the camera. They blink a few times before their owner backs away slightly, just enough so that the rest of her face can be seen. Aw, it's a cute little girl! She's wearing an elaborate golden crown that appears to be just a touch too big for her head, as shown when it slips down over her forehead. Scowling, she pushes it back up to its rightful place atop her head, and glares daggers at the camera. Her mouth is pressed into a hard, thin line; her eyes are narrowed. It's a strange expression for such a young face.]

You have an awful lot of nerve, dragging me into all of this. This isn't my country. This isn't even my world, apparently, and I'm not sure I even believe all that nonsense. Why should I care? What does it matter to me whether you win or lose?

I'm just a little girl, you know. How much help am I going to be, hmm? And I am a queen, on top of that: queen of a nation with its own war to worry about. Perhaps if you'd asked nicely, I might have sent reinforcements, once things had been settled. Except I can't, now that you've gone and kidnapped me.

And what if I die? What then? Falena would never, ever, ever forgive the death of its queen - you'll just end up with another war on your hands. This Initiative of yours isn't very smart, is it?

[There's a pause, and a pained expression crosses her face for a brief moment. Her voice is suddenly as small as she is.] They could have at least brought Frey here, too. He would know what to do.

He's my brother. [Princess Poutyface up in here.] I haven't seen him in... a while.

[ Oh. Oooh. Collette makes a sympathetic face, tilting her head to the side to look at the screen and not her own little camera eye. ]

I miss my brother, too. Family's pretty great! We're both lucky we have family, you know?

[ Not everyone does. ]

Feel like telling me about your brother? If you're the Queen, what's he?

[Lym nods slowly. She's had a few days to settle in and learn more about this place and look for any fellow countrymen. There are no other Falenans here, as far as she knows, which is both good (no husband) and bad (no brother).]

He's the Prince. Or... well, he was. Now he's just the leader of a rebel army. Um. It's a long story. [a beat] He's a really good big brother, though. He's always been really nice to me... even when I wasn't very nice to him.

Just the leader of a rebel army? That's so not a just, you know! Though it's kind of funny, my brother's in the military back home too. Not a revel one, for the most part.

[ The Yeerks likely thought of anything human armed military as rebel once it was turned on them in public in full force. ]

We're little sisters! We've got a brat license, just like older brothers are supposed to have a jerk license some of the time. Doesn't sound like yours used his!

[ She grins, more amused by this than anything else. Her brother hasn't been so kind, but it was usually all for the stupid things kids get into. She didn't want to count her being left behind as a jerk move. ]

[TOTALLY PINGED BY THE CROWN and then when she mentions being queen it's like.

awwwwuh yeah. she gets where you're coming from girl.

but okay not really her expression is simply that of a neutral interest.]

No, they have proved themselves time and time again that the Initiative does not think before it acts.

But do not worry too much about your country here, [she's been there with the whole war thing weh weh] if...when we return, it will be as though we had never left at all.

So I went from one incompetent group of people to another. [Just gonna. Roll her eyes. She has the worst luck with these things, gosh.] That's just great.

Like we never left...? So no one will notice that I'm gone?

[AND THEN BACK TO A NEUTRAL EXPRESSION]

I believe so. I have not experienced this theory firsthand, mind you, but there are those from future points in time in the world I come from who have made no mention of my disappearance which would surely have been of notice.

[The stuff about different points in time kind of goes over her head, but Lym gets the idea. She looks a little disappointed, though. Her last attempt at running away had gone badly; she had hoped that this might serve as another act of rebellion, however selfish it was.]

So no one's rioting in the streets because their beloved queen is missing. [and then she grins] That's too bad, though. I would've liked to stir up some trouble at the palace.

Then you can't say I'm too young. The princess becomes queen when the previous one... [She hesitates.] isn't able to rule anymore. That's how it is.

Have you? [She tilts her head curiously. So he's not from Falena - that's good. Still no Godwin buttheads come to take her back home, awesome.] When?

[confesses]

[Kahlan is really bothered by the amount of children being brought here, monarchs or no, so her tone is gentle when she responds, but notably not condescending.]

I'm sure it's of little consolation, your Highness, but I've been told time halts in your world when you arrive to this place. Your home will be safe. [And then, with a dry sort of humor:] And no, the Initiative isn't very smart.

[Using the proper titles of respect and not being rude and condescending? She likes you, Kahlan.]

Time halts? No one will notice I'm gone... That's interesting. [She'd been kind of hoping that she would go missing, tbh, but whatever we can work with this.] Like taking a break from the war.

They're idiots. This isn't how you win a war.

voice;

[confesses]

[Kahlan is pretty rad...and used to monarchs, being a pretty important part of the government herself.]

There's a war in your world as well? [Her tone is light and conversational, but she's kind of concerned. Ruler or not, the girl sounds so young.] It seems there's no shortage of those, no matter what world it is...

Uh-huh. Civil war. I'd just gotten back from a crucial battle, before I got dragged here. [Her first - and likely last - attempt at leading the troops, and it had gone pretty badly, if her irritated tone is any indication.] There's always gonna be war. As long as there are people who desire power... there's no end to it.
