Um.

[The video feed kicks on at some ungodly hour during the night and finds Isaac- or, more accurately, the faint outline of Isaac. The world around him is dark, but for what it's worth, he seems to be outside. In the snow.

The first thing you'd probably notice is that he isn't dressed for it at all. Isaac is actually pretty much wearing a t-shirt, fabric pajama pants, and has no shoes or socks to speak of. He's drenched, shivering something awful, and seems to be rather in the middle of nowhere.]

I could use a little help. [His teeth chatter as he speaks. Not fun.] Is anyone awake? I just kind of... woke up here a few minutes ago. So, uh- a jacket or a way home would be nice.

[And she's quiet for a moment, just the sound of her breathing on the other end of the line, as she rolls that answer around in her head.

It's the mention of Peter that does it, the mention of his powers.]

What's your weapon, Isaac?

[He just sort of gives a halfhearted shrug.]

Same crap as last time. Augmenting werewolf stuff- when I was fighting with you, and I suddenly got better? I'm pretty sure that's it.

[There's a pause, and this question seems sort of out of the blue, but Isaac doesn't really put two and two together yet. He's actually sort of sulking.]

You know, some people got guns and stuff. That would have been cool.

Ellie used to be able to make herself invisible.

[Because she weaponized herself.

Not that it ever helped her sneak up on Steph, but details.]

What do you know about Peter's weapon?

[She's going somewhere with this, but she doesn't want to say too much about Peter's weapon if Isaac doesn't know already.]

I... dunno.

[Isaac has to think for a moment on that.]

It's his sixth sense or whatever, isn't it? [Isaac isn't quite sure how much he can really reference Peter's balls while he's talking to Steph.] The psychic impression thing.

[Okay, she figures if Isaac knows that, it's okay to talk about.]

You know how he had a calming effect on you and Scott? It should only work on you guys 'cause you're werewolves, but since he weaponized it, it works on me, too.

[And other people, but she's sure Isaac will get that.]

He didn't even realize until I pointed it out, so I'm just thinking-- you know, maybe it's another side effect of weaponizing the whole werewolf thing.

...oh. [Isaac supposes that makes sense. He and Peter had never really talked about weapons past the first explanation of the swadi-whatever.]

Wait, are we still talking about Peter?

[He purses his lips for a moment, before shaking his head.]

When I was first turned, I had dreams kind of like that- I was told it was normal. But the sleepwalking is new. I don't see how my powers would be trying to kill me with frostbite.

[At least that last little bit, since technically she wouldn't call Peter's weapon his lycanthropy.]

They're probably not trying to kill you, it's just an unintended side effect. Our weapons respond to what we want, consciously or not.

And I wanted... to go running barefoot in the snow.

[This is just frustrating.]

It doesn't always make sense. Maybe it's something to do with, I dunno, freedom or escape or something like that?

[Running away, or just running.]

Maybe.

[But he doesn't seem entirely convinced.]

I didn't know you could do that. Maybe I can ask whoever's in charge?

Not sure if there's really someone in charge, but I think the greeter handles that sorta thing, these days.

[What with most of the Initiative being dead.]

I guess I could ask, in that case.

[He shrugs, numbly.]

[And right now she's glad that Isaac has Peter to look after him.]

Whatever it is, we'll figure it out, okay?

Hopefully before I wind up three miles out in the snow again.

[But he's smiling now.]

I can always set something up so that Peter or someone gets an alert if you go wandering in the middle of the night.

...like a security camera?

[That's... actually better than tying bells to his feet.]

I was thinking more like an alarm system, either something you can activate to ping if the door's opened at night. Or like - a proximity alert that you could attach to yourself, something simple like a bracelet that you can put on when you go to bed, and it'll alert Peter if you move more than twenty feet away from your apartment.

[He nods slowly, his brows furrowing a little in thought.]

Sounds pretty secure. How would I go about getting one?

I can make it, I've already done an alarm system for my own apartment.
