[There’s a girl staring down at the netbook in blank incomprehension. Observant people might notice the burn scars on her hands, crawling up her neck. Slowly, her gaze drags upwards to see the light that indicates the camera’s on, and recognition flickers in her eyes. She sets the netbook down and sits on a bed nearby, curling her feet under her. One hand is clenched around a bow, and the quiver is on her back already] You can see me, can’t you. [It’s not a question, and she doesn’t even appear to be addressing the camera.] Of course you can. They’re always watching.

It was supposed to be over. All of this. The fighting, the killing. It was supposed to be over. And don’t tell me there might not be killing. You don’t hand a victor a weapon and expect them not to use it.

[She stands, swiftly, drawing an arrow from the quiver and setting it on the string in one smooth movement. It’s aimed at the netbook. The expression on the girl’s face is almost too intense. A smile touches her lips, but there’s nothing positive in the expression] If you want me to fight for you, I’m going to need you to bring me Peeta.

[Her arms jerk up, aiming elsewhere, and the arrow is released. There’s a crash that indicates she hit something, and judging by the look of hard satisfaction in her eyes, it’s what she wanted to hit.] I could use Haymitch, too.

[Something in her face freezes, and she looks away from the camera. Doing so exposes her neck a little further, showcasing the burn scars that are also on her hands] It was a temporary thing.

[ He does catch sight of those scars and quiets for a moment, tone sombering. ] I see. [ The name makes sense, and the cruelty someone saw to make it fit is apparent ]

You have seen much harshness for one so young.

[Her hands curl in on themselves as she remembers. She'd come so far, back in 12 - but being thrown here has her all off kilter, especially after seeing Finnick. She's no longer safe and she definitely doesn't feel comfortable; it all starts coming back.

SO IT'S JUST GOING TO TAKE HER A MOMENT, THOR] 'Harshness'. [a laugh. There's no humour in it] That works, I guess.

[ The bitterness there is noted, he's not that dense, and his expression is something with a tinge of sorrow. ]

What would you call it? What has been done to you.

[She draws an arrow from the quiver and inspects, turning it back and forth in her fingers] Human.

I have not known humanity to be so cruel. What of the one who did this to you and awarded you such a name? [ Because it sounds like it was all one thing, and not the separate incidents they were. ]

Then you haven't known humanity. [Her finger hovers over the point of the arrow like she's going to test its sharpness, but ultimately withdraws it]

She's dead. It's done. It was supposed to be over. [Her head shakes. Sorry Thor, were you there?] I should have known better.

Perhaps not. I like to believe they are capable of more than such base acts of brutality. [ He shakes his head and is reminded again how little of a time he's known humanity, as guardian of Midgard. A couple years? In the face of his liftime, it seems as a speck, but he'd been so certain of them, even when Loki had insisted otherwise. ]
