[There’s a girl staring down at the netbook in blank incomprehension. Observant people might notice the burn scars on her hands, crawling up her neck. Slowly, her gaze drags upwards to see the light that indicates the camera’s on, and recognition flickers in her eyes. She sets the netbook down and sits on a bed nearby, curling her feet under her. One hand is clenched around a bow, and the quiver is on her back already] You can see me, can’t you. [It’s not a question, and she doesn’t even appear to be addressing the camera.] Of course you can. They’re always watching.

It was supposed to be over. All of this. The fighting, the killing. It was supposed to be over. And don’t tell me there might not be killing. You don’t hand a victor a weapon and expect them not to use it.

[She stands, swiftly, drawing an arrow from the quiver and setting it on the string in one smooth movement. It’s aimed at the netbook. The expression on the girl’s face is almost too intense. A smile touches her lips, but there’s nothing positive in the expression] If you want me to fight for you, I’m going to need you to bring me Peeta.

[Her arms jerk up, aiming elsewhere, and the arrow is released. There’s a crash that indicates she hit something, and judging by the look of hard satisfaction in her eyes, it’s what she wanted to hit.] I could use Haymitch, too.

[She looks like she's on the verge of being offended, but SHE GUESSES he's been sort of nice and she's going to need allies in this place if she wants to survive. And she does] You're not the first person who's said that.

[ OH GOOD because it would only go downhill from there. like the cup smashing incident. no one wants to revisit that. ] Then it is likely true.

What sort of a place is Panem? Tell me of the good of it, not of the war. [ There's been enough talk of war already and Panem isn't a realm he knows ]

The good? Of Panem? [She stares at him like she has no idea how to answer the question. Because she has no idea how to answer the question. She thinks of the good of Panem and thinks of Peeta before he was driven mad, of Cinna, of Rue. Of Prim.]

It's...rebuilding. [It doesn't sound like a lot, but it is. It's everything, when Panem had once been so broken she'd wanted to raze it to the ground]

Yes. There must have been cherished memories of your home at some point. [ If there's not he's going to be very sad for your existence, little thing. At the admission of rebuilding, he nods, smiling. ]

[The look in her eyes becomes distant, and sort of glazed] At some point... [They're all dead. Or, most of them.] I have a book.

[ He tilts his head slightly ] A book? You have authored it yourself?

[She shakes her head, still distant. Her fingers tangle together] We all have.

Peeta. And Haymitch. [She frowns, and then just shuts the lid of the netbook on him. BYE THOR 8D]
