Hey everyone.

First, if anyone here knew Ed Elric, he's left us for home. He was my lab partner and friend for the last few months, and I'm going to miss him.

Second: this cold isn't exactly the best environment for plant growth, but plants are an important food group for most of us. I've brought some spectrum lamps for plant growth back from Hydroponics on the base, along with some I built myself. There should be enough to power a small indoor agriculture operation for a while, and I'm working on more with my limited supplies.

Third: I'm also working on compact heaters if any of you ended up in unheated residences. The process is slow without supplies or collaborators, but if current progress holds, five should be ready within the week.

It's probably the only other thing I can do now outside the battlefield. Right now, I can't focus on rebuilding a tea shop or anything like that.

I've been managing. It's just....Margulis is gone as well. I just didn't have the heart to announce it. So, it's just Mana and I right now.

You're not. My metals need time to cool before I can do anything else with them anyway.

...honestly, I don't have many friends left either.

[She manages to smile and nods.]

[Sure enough, a few hours later, she's outside on the doorstep when she knocks.]

[Billy has finally cleared his pile of junk away...enough for comfortable places to sit and relax, at least. He opens the door with a sad smile and open arms.]

Saori. It's been a while, hasn't it?

[With a smile, she hugs Billy when she steps inside.]

It really has. I'm sorry I haven't been keeping in touch with you.

It's okay. We've had other things on our minds, and I really should've checked up on you more.

[Billy is frowning when he pulls back.]

You seem to be carrying a lot of tension.

Yes...it's been rather hard for me to keep focus on anything recently.

[Her eyes look away and she sighs.]

So far, I've just been wandering around to try and keep myself busy.

And yet my mind always wanders when I do that, right back to what I was trying to avoid.
