[Rocket was pretty much convinced this was some sort of mess up. His passport must have screwed up and he'd ended up across the galaxy or something.

Because what other explanation was there?

Sure he'd been told what this place and he'd been given his 'welcome' items, or whatever you wanted to call them but no. It was a joke. A weird joke.

Wouldn't be the first time he'd ended up on a strange planet.

Ignoring that explanation I was given that I really don't feel too flarkin' inclined to believe, anyone want to tell me what's going on?

[He finally activated the communicator he'd been given, his ears laying back slightly as his tail flicks about irritably.]

[Well considering both times he's managed to end both careers in some kind of disgrace and commit huge mistakes that have gotten large numbers of people killed as a direct result of his decisions, and he tried to get people to let go of that Star-Lord thing only they won't let him so now he's gotta be some kind of Star-Lord again, it's safe to say that there are maybe some issues here.

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT HE DIDN'T EVEN INTEND THAT TO COME UP. He's the damn Star-Lord whether he likes it or not so he might as well be Star-Lord. But come on Oz, there was a teachable moment in those conversations somewhere about not following in his footsteps and being Star-Lord isn't that cool. And he maybe feels guilty that Oz seems to have gotten this impression and won't let go of it. It's like he's getting away with something awful. Do NOT follow in his footsteps, little boy.

It would probably help if he would explain things, but he won't.]
