[ For a second, theres just crackling over the line and then Peter nervously clears his throat, the device held close to his chest. ]

Probably don't even need to ask if anybody's found a way home yet, otherwise none of us would even be here in the first place. I get it, we're all stuck here together and nobody even asked for this.

But I was just-- [ There's a long pause where he gathers himself up, a waver to his voice. ] I was just in the hospital and now i'm here, and I was just wondering if anyone had seen my brother. Nathan Petrelli? If this is the future and I'm here somehow, then maybe he is too.

Kind of a long shot, I know, but I had to ask. I just need to know if he's okay.

[ After another second, Peter exhales. ] Only have one more question -- do we really have to fight?

[:c It's sad when other people are looking for people they want, too.] I've only been here for a few days, but I haven't heard that name thrown around anywhere. Hopefully someone else will know him.

[A pause.] I've been told that they really expect us to.

[ Peter just 'huh's a little quietly, before clearing his throat again. ] Guess i'd rather not have him here either, but all I want to know is if he's okay. Can't really phone home from the future.

[ sigh. ] If they're expecting us to fight, you'd think they'd also need people who could give medical attention.

I know what you mean. [She's quiet for a moment.] I have friends back home that I want to make sure are okay.

I-I suppose so. It looks like they have doctors here but... [Eck. Doctors.] They probably need more than just fighters.

voice;

[askedtobe]

Yeah? Suppose if we had any kind of a say in this we wouldn't even be here in the first place. Maybe I should just be glad that he's home instead of here.

[ Sigh. ] Or maybe they don't. We'll probably find out eventually.

voice;

I'd rather my friends were here than back home. [Before doctors kill them, that is.]

That's what I'm afraid of.

I think they can send us home.

[He pauses.] They're just not going to until they don't need our help anymore, I guess.

And who knows how long that'll take.

It might be a pretty long time. The more we help them the faster it'll go, though, right?

Since the beginning. Approximately four and a half months.

No Nathan Petrelli that I know of, you can check the contacts list for easy access to who is here exactly actually.

[slight shift] Unfortunately, everyone has to fight.

Great. [ grumble grumble. ]

You mean the, uh- contacts list on our phones, right? [ cause that's totally what Peter's assuming it is. ] They've really got everyone who's here?

[doctorly]

That's what I mean, and yes every single person on that list is here.

And more seem to be constantly arriving.

Which means that they're still looking for more people to fight.

Basically they have no limit to how many people they want to bring. They'll take any they can get their hands on.
