( ♞ 005 | VIDEO )

( As desirable as hiding away in his room forever currently sounds, after over a week on the moon base, restlessness has hit Edgeworth hard. It is time to find answers to the questions that had been weighing heavily on his mind. Or, at least, the answer to one question in particular. )

It appears that much has changed since I was here last. ( He twitches slightly at that massive understatement, but reacquainting himself with his current situation had been troublesome, at best. ) I've kept myself abreast of recent events through the use of the network, but there is just one matter which I wish to enquire about further.

( He swallows, although his cravat obscures the nervous bobbing of his Adam's apple for the most part. Despite doing his best to keep his expression neutral, there is a decided tone of unease to his voice. )

If anyone knows anything regarding the whereabouts of my Shiba Inu, Pess, after ... my disappearance this past May, do let me know immediately.

Perhaps.

But she didn't return here with you. That's how she came to this place before, isn't it?

But if she didn't leave with you, and you didn't return here with her, then what bond that brought you here together separated before you departed. That is to say, her existence in this world did not rely on you, or vice versa.

If not to yours, why would she be bound to the existence of somebody else's heart?

Perhaps she was not seen, because she was taken in by somebody of that world. There are so many others in the world beyond us, after all.

Well. There were, as far as that island is concerned.

I'm suggesting the plausible possibility of it.

Like everyone else, I can't know for certain what truly happened to her.

As I said: unless someone witnessed it happening, there's no way of knowing.

If I could give you certainty, I would, but I won't give you a hope I can't believe in.
