[ He makes the bother to speak in Basic (which is really English except maybe accented weirdly, who knows) but cuts right to it and doesn't betray his own thoughts on the matter. ]

How are we certain the Initiative is the right side to fight for?

It was, once. I'm determined to see I can always protect people, but I'm not sure I can be a hero, anymore.

I've learned that in order for there to be justice, much of it must be dark. Death isn't something that can be avoided and pain even less so.

But, I've at least found that it's better if I shoulder such things, myself--so those who can live peacefully are able to do so.

[Yet, Coby echoes Maul's thoughts in the next moment--]

Still, I would prefer them stay ignorant. I can do my best to maintain the damage and push it back.

It would be better for them to not know what the cost of their peace is. Then, it wouldn't really be peace at all, would it?

I can't weigh politicians, sir. I've never heard of a time of war or peace in which they were ever truly troubled.

[He wouldn't outright say that he didn't really mind or care for nobles. Given that the World Government controlled the Navy completely, he would have to lick their boots eventually.]

I don't think so. There may as well be one happy man rather than none at all.
