What's your favorite story? Scary ones are probably best for late at night, but what I really want to hear about are everyone's favorites. For instance, something about a princess and a dragon, or maybe a mystery with a twist ending, or something out of history....ah, if you make it up or adapt it from a book, that's fine too! Or even if it's a real one that's happened to someone you know, ( and a light laugh ) — don't worry, I don't tell anyone!

But it's rude to ask without giving my own preference, right? I can start with mine, if anyone wants.

Wow, that really does sound like a miracle! That must have meant a lot to those people after going through something like a revolt.

There's a long history to it, but it starts with Alexander the Great who conquered many countries though he allowed the people to continue to observe their own religions. Antiochus IV came in about a century later and he prohibited the practice of Judaism. He did a lot of terrible things to Jews.

Which eventually led to the revolt and its success.

It takes eight days to prepare a fresh supply of oil for the menorah and this one burned for that time.

So it really does mean something.
