What if there isn't a way, Lady Lucy?

..if there isn't a way... [ As loathe she is to consider it. ] there's the time travel equipment that the Initiative has. But that isn't a guarantee it'll help by any means. They always -say- that we can go back in time to fix things, but what about that boy's world; what was his name, Elmer? We lost that world, and who knows how many people died there too. And the whole dying and coming back to life... everyone is taking it for granted but THAT has failed too. That man Adam, he never came back to life after he died here.

I don't like the idea of abandoning anyone here. I don't -want- to abandon anyone here, even if there's been tension between the locals and the Transports. [ And... roles reversed she doubted they would have any problem with leaving the Transports behind to save their own bottoms. But she knew her guildmates have some friends among the locals, and she had too - the idea of abandoning -anyone- is just..nauseating. ]

How do we know they really tried every possible way?

We lost that world, but that doesn't mean we'll lose this one too. If we don't take this chance to change things and just stay here and die, it's as good as having given up.

Losing this world is absolutely not an option! Not if we have to leave these people behind. We owe it to them to make everything right, to keep the attack from happening. Otherwise, what would the point of living afterwards be?

I don't think it's that...they don't understand. For a lot of people..even me... running from the situation goes against everything they - we - stand for.

[ But there was no First Master to cast a spell and trap the city in a stasis bubble to protect it from a massive attack like what was being planned. No guarantee that something like that would even work. ]

..but still, you'd think with as many people, from as many different worlds there are, there would have at least been someone who could do something...!

No.. no it's all right, It's just... it goes against everything my friends and I stand for.
