[ piper's communicator clicks on with a scream. ]

— Yeah. I'm going to need a little help over here.

[ frozen — literally — in the air is a thick book piper had accidentally knocked off the table in her room. the book and a good portion of table have been affected by her power. it's ice, crystallised, and is smoking a little as ice would do. ]

Those guys who attacked the party — I got the memo that they could stop powers from working, but can they turn you evil? Because … Eh. [ she's panicking. ] This is bad. This is very, very bad.

[ she is very, very confused, and very, very concerned. the last time she had this power it was very, very bad. ]

I can't help when I'm like this!

Fire magic is my specialty; if anything, I can at least melt it.

[ fire magic. huh. she'd been hoping someone with that ability would come along. ]

[she's used it for boiling water for tea, for cooking food, for setting people on fire . . . I guess all that was close enough]

Not this specifically, but it should not be too hard to handle.

Is that why you said what you did earlier? About seeing if it has any affect on you?

[ it'd make sense, if tempest is running very, very hot. but piper's never really come into contact with a pyro who felt anything but normal. cole was capable of fire balls — he was a quarter, if not a small slice, of a pyro. ]

I'm taking a wild guess in thinking that you'd just thaw yourself out quicker than most.

[that . . . she looks utterly confused for a moment, then just. Bursts out laughing; the kind of laugh that sounds like she may have needed it]

No, no—I was referring to if it was dark magic or not. There is a word I came across that describes it . . . [she thinks for a moment] I am - allergic? It is poisonous to me.

Allergic to dark magic? Huh. Seems like something we could use. [ she does crack a smile. since the halliwells seem to turn evil all day every day, but, i digress. ]

Tell me if I'm stepping on any toes, but are you a witch?

It has come in handy a few times. [she won't mention how she found out the hard way. She grins back, then shakes her head]

You aren't, and I am, yes.

As of right now, we seem to be polar opposites. [ fire and ice. ha ha ha … piper, no. ] Is fire your special power? My sisters have something different to me … Guess it makes the whole being a trio work better since we're not stepping on any toes.

[hyanaimne]

[she tilts her head, curious, but answers the question first]

Fire is my specialty and my preferred group of spells, but I am capable of others. Ice, lightning, healing. [she shrugs]

Though . . . are you only capable of one spell?

[molecules]

One — [ right, piper's slowly getting it. tempest's magic is worded under different terms. piper will try to not be so confusing — or less so. she won't say her power is based on molecules, then. baby steps, yes? ] I can blow things up, too. Freeze them — not literally like this — and blow them to hell.

[hyanaimne]

[you will blow her mind. No pun intended]

I see . . . ah—let me come up there to help you, before I go into a million questions.

Yeah. Sure. Try not to burn the apartment down. [ she says it with a slight curve to her lips. ]

[she cuts the video feed and tucks the tablet into her jacket. The seventh floor isn't too bad of a walk, so she takes the stairs (the elevators scare the crap out of her, to be honest).

It isn't much of a wait, though - ten or so minutes later, there's a knock on Piper's door]

[ she'll be a little honest … after jesse came and saved the day, telling her she's not evil, piper's gone and done something stupid and frozen the damn table again. the leg is solid ice. she's trying to unfreeze it, but piper can't quite manage it at all. she's surprised she hasn't blown the thing to smithereens.the knock on her door comes at the best of times. she moves towards it, opening it, and recognises the face. she doesn't quite know her name just yet, but she's someone piper's not quite sure she could forget, not with the information overload on either of their ends. ]

Hi. My table is going to be very happy to see you.

Hello.

[she still hasn't quite mastered the tablet or the mousing over things to know what people's names are, so there's that awkward moment where a name should be said, or an introduction should be made . . . until she sees the table.

And looks entirely amused]

Yes, I would think so. Did it get worse, dear?

Lets just say someone came to my rescue and I thought I'd teach the table another lesson. [ piper sighs, her shoulders sagging. her arms hang uselessly by her sides, fingers curling slightly. she's worried about pulling her other power — the more explosive one — out of her pocket, but she knows how to control it, if barely, and is comfortable enough that the table will still be standing, if a little thawed out, by the end of this. ] I can freeze the crap out of it, but I can't make it go away.

[she can't quite hide her snicker; she'd do the same thing, to be honest] My, someone beat me? And here I wished to be the hero for once.

[she eyes the table again, her head tilting slowly, almost as if she's amazed at the extent of the "damage"] It is not frozen to the floor, is it?

Hey, I'm all for doubling up on heroes. My table could definitely use a few.

[ she glances to it. it looks like it's frozen to the floor, doesn't it? piper wrings her hands together, pulling a face. ] I certainly hope not.

[Tempest approaches the table and kneels down, eyeing the extent of the magic] It looks as though it is, but that is fine.

You can really give me my table back? No frostbite? [ she folds her arms against her chest, eyebrow arched. with a small smile: ] I'm not used to the idea of getting my crap back as it was. Usually it's in pieces when it's returned to me.

I think I can manage that much. [Tempest snorts, amused, and holds out her hand, letting it hover over where the table is frozen to the floor] Are you at least able to put the pieces back together?

[she murmurs something quietly, letting a small fire spell conjure in her hand; the ice begins to melt, slowly]

Being a handyman is, unfortunately, not something I'm great at. [ but her husband? hell yeah. piper doesn't linger too much on that thought, however, as she takes a step forward to watch tempest's ability work with a curious eye. ]

Oh, wow. You weren't lying when you said you were good at this.

[Tempest glances up at Piper curiously] What is a handyman?

[even without her attention on her spell, it keeps going, slow, the ice starting to make a small puddle on the floor. She'd deal with that after]

Handymen repairs things. Doors, walls, frozen furniture. [ she says it with a laugh. ] My husband could probably heal this right back up. [ her tone shifts, turning a bit harder. piper misses leo. she doesn't understand how he can't hear her calls, except for being on a completely other plane. ] But he's not here.

Ah, so similar to a carpenter. [this modern world and it's different words!!

She turns back to focus on the table, finally freeing the leg from floor. She pauses for a moment]
