[ there's an awkward second of someone fumbling with the device. when scott steps back a second later, the reason's obvious: he's trying to get it to balance on his desk, giving a clear view of both him and isaac standing a few feet off. ]
Hey. My name's Scott. I was here once before, so I guess I don't really have any questions.
[ except for maybe why am i back, but he knows that'd just be wasting time. anyway, they're broadcasting for a reason, and that's not it. ]
I know stuff is really weird here, like angels and superheroes and shapeshifters, so I don't really get the point in— [ keeping secrets? that's pretty broad. he obviously didn't map this speech out, so rather than making more of a mess he just stumbles for the finish line. ] I'm a werewolf. If you have a problem with that, let me know.
[ there's no challenge in his tone. it sounds more like "sorry, but we can probably talk it out". he almost steps forward to end the feed there, catching himself abruptly to add: ]
Isaac too. [ And Isaac offers a casual little wave at that, in the midst of all his eyerolling at Scott's... presentation of sorts. Really, Scott. ]
People are missing and people are hurt, and we want to help, but we can't do anything if we're too busy hiding. [ which is the real point of this, except hold up, one last thing. ] And we know there's a full moon in a few days, but we aren't crazy and we won't hurt anyone.
( ooc: icly the day after the party/kidnappings. all dialogue is scott's because isaac is rude, but replies will come from one or both! )

[wolflock]
[It's a little more defensive than it probably should be. But goddamnit Peter, if you make him choose between you two, you already know his answer. Even if he's not 100% behind Scott.]
I don't know. People who hulk out and turn into a bear person during a sparring match. [It was a long time ago, his memory is fuzzy.]
[wolflock]
[he makes a frustrated sound and throws himself against the wall, slides down it until he's sitting on his haunches. he already knows who isaac would choose, it's not even a question. and it's also not a question that peter needs them, and it's also also not a question now that scott is one of those people who wants to be a hero, one of those people who doesn't understand the difference between people paying attention to him and people paying attention to someone like peter.]
He thinks you can protect me.
[it comes out unfortunately pleading.]
[wolflock]
[Isaac cuts himself off when Peter's other words sink in, and he looks away with a bitten-off snarl. This is more than he wanted to get into right now. He told Scott that this wasn't a good idea, didn't he? And now look what's happened. Instead of 'oh, cool, come help with your powers', it's... this.
He's still not quite looking at him.]
...we will. I mean, we- I know Scott wouldn't let anything happen to you. Especially if it's because of something he did. [There's a pause, and Isaac shakes his head.] -come on, you're not the only person we hang out with. People might as well think that Allison's a wolf.
[wolflock]
Yeah. All right.
[wolflock]
...Scott's a good guy. I know this is kind of a risky play, but he's- I trust him. [And Peter doesn't know Isaac to know just how important that is, but there's still weight to that statement that wouldn't just be there if it was a casual thing.]
We've been in hot water before, and Scott always gets us out.
[wolflock]
[it's blunt, flat, not even angry anymore.]
But I'm going to trust you. Because I don't think you're a moron when it comes to the survival of your own ass. You told me there were hunters here. You think this coming out party is going to stop them?
[wolflock]
...well, the guy I was telling you about. Rifle last name? Gone. I checked before we made the post. We have a huntress on our side too, if that helps.
[It probably doesn't. He rubs at the bridge of his nose.]
And if anyone else thinks that a wolf pelt is more important than kidnappings and our city being bombed, then I'm pretty sure they'll have to go through a lot more than just us.
[wolflock]
Zealots and scientists always have time for a side job. Doesn't matter anyway. Barn door's open, horses are gone, et cetera. Whatever's coming is coming. Hope your friend knows what he's doing, because your ass is second on the line.
[wolflock]
So.]
I told you I trust him.
[It's quiet, even so. God knows he's done worse things for Derek.]
And he knows what risk he's taking.
[wolflock]
Yeah, you do. I get it.
[and in a funny way, peter trusts isaac, at least in that he's pretty sure that you have to work for his trust. which doesn't mean he trusts scott, but it doesn't mean nothing that isaac thinks he's trustworthy.]
God, I really hope you're right.
[wolflock]
[Isaac sighs because again, this is another thing that Scott is dragging him into, but hey.]
If you want to- you know, not be seen with us, that's fine, I get it. Scott wants to go help the kidnapped people, so it's not like we'll really be around much anyway.
[wolflock]
I'm not going to play hero.
But you're pretty all right. Seems a fuckin' waste.
[wolflock]
[But... all the same, he's doing it.]
Thanks, though. You're not so bad yourself.
[wolflock]
Yep, I know how that goes. Be careful, yeah?
[he tips an invisible hat.]
I try to be a complete dick, but the natural charm inevitably shows through.
[wolflock]
[And Isaac nods back at him in return.]
I'm sure. I'll see you after this whole thing is over, I guess. [Gotta go be a hero with Scooter.]
[wolflock]
If I don't see you before then, I'm going to the gardens.
[wolflock]
[Pause.]
And you're sure you're in- you know, control?
[wolflock]
[wolflock]
[Still, Isaac is a little apprehensive. He thinks that it would probably be for the best if he's there- just to be safe. He can control his wolf, after all.]
I'll see you there, man.
[wolflock]
Later, man.
