[It's Kili's first time really using audio instead of video. He doesn't want anyone to see him right now.]

Thorin's gone. He hasn't come back for days and I can't find his name on the network anymore. [His voice shakes slightly and he clears his throat. When he speaks next, his tone is cold. Detached. He has no uncle to care for him now, after all. He needs to prove he can do this on his own.]

If he had any business with any of you, let me know and I will do my best to make sure his part is fulfilled.

[Kili reluctantly changes his setting to video. It's obvious he's upset, his eyes are red and a little swollen. He swallows and nods, looking around him.]

Can I stay with you for a little while? I don't want to stay in Thorin's apartment anymore.

[He tries a smile, but it doesn't quite work and he nods.] I'll be there soon.

[She may not be quite so scary as Galadriel but no one wants to argue with a 2,000+ year old elf lady.]

[It's a few minutes later that Kili knocks hesitantly on the door before just letting himself in. He's at least fairly well recovered from his illness, though he looks tired and miserable.]

[Shortly after he comes inside, Celebrian is coming out of her room and hugging him. She knows how he feels, losing loved ones.]

At least you can be assured that he has gone home.

[Her arms around him are just what he needs and he clings to her, hiding his face in her front and holding to her tightly.

Kili tries to keep it together. He really, really does. But once his shoulders start to shake, he knows he's done for.]

[She holds him close, nearly tempted to mother him but doesn't.]

Do not fight the tears, they speak of the love you have for him.

I had hoped I'd only missed him due to our schedules.

[Kili starts at first, remembering his fever dreams, before he swallows and calms down. It's fine, Kang's fine.

He looks a bit worse for the wear himself, his eyes red and a bit swollen.]

I hoped so too, but...he'd been with me all the time, and he wouldn't just leave.

[governorkang]

He was worried about you.

[Kang would be too, if one of his nieces or nephews was sick. He doesn't look very happy that Thorin's gone either; he'd come to consider the dwarf a friend.]

[Kili looks down and swallows, nodding tightly.]

I know.

[governorkang]

[He smiles and turns his head to one side slightly.]

I trust that you are skilled enough to finish his work. I had asked him for a sword.

[kilimanjaro]

[Kili's head jerks back up, a purpose suddenly glinting in his eyes. This is his chance. He can prove himself, show he's just as good and useful as any other dwarf.]

I am sure I could. [His voice is surprisingly firm and confident. Smithing, at least, he'd been good at.] Perhaps not as well as Thorin could have done it, but it will be a fine sword all the same.

Dwarven weapons are rarely poor quality.

[Kili nods.] We take pride in our work.

Perhaps it is. [There's a soft sigh from Kili's end.] At least he's back where he ought to be.
