The second: He let Rosette use the kitchen.

When the feed blinks to life, the serenity of the figure facing the camera is directly at odds with the thunderous cacophony in the background. Chrono just smiles blandly at his unseen audience as a terrible burst of sparks makes itself visible in—is his back to the apartment's kitchen?]

I just had a quick question. [He might as well dive right into it, as a crash echoes around the apartment. He doesn't even flinch.] Does anyone here know how to repair electronics? A microwave, specifically? I think apartment number 304 could use your services.

[It's here that Rosette comes into view, hurdling around the corner as smoke billows in her wake; if Chrono were actually looking, he might think it seems appropriate for Rosette's definition of an entrance. It's unclear whether she's addressing Chrono or the tablet (even realizes he's talking to the tablet) when she bellows FIRE! THAT'S A FIRE! It's very likely the former based on how the serenity of Chrono's smile twitches into something that speaks silent danger for someone.]

Quickly, if it isn't too much trouble? [The feed doesn't cut off; evidently, his quiet fury is such that he completely forgets to turn off the tablet before hurling it across the room to go perform some manner of intervention.

It lands facing a ceiling that is growing increasingly smokey.]

[Anyone who actually approaches apartment #304 will find an impressive cloud of black smoke billowing out of the open door that smells distinctly of burnt electronics and scorched metal. Rosette's voice will make itself known second, shouting about how the kitchen is out to get her and this isn't her fault.

If one actually ventures into the abyss (which speaks volumes toward a capacity for bad decisions, by the way), they'll find a frantic teenage girl and a long-suffering little kid trying to determine the best way to put out an impressive electrical fire.]

[They say where there is smoke, there is fire. And for one hungry DragonSlayer that's more than enough reason to seek out the source of said smoke. ]

Woah this is a mess worse than anything I did to Lucy's kitchen...

[With that he ventures past the door and through the smoke following the scent of the flames amidst the smoke. Not even gonna announce himself nope. Besides people like it if fire is out of their proximity as quickly as possible so introduction and stuff only get in the way of that.]

[The scene is something of ... well practiced chaos. Where the standard microwave usually is, there's only a broken off door on the floor, and shards of electronics in the wall nearby. There's a dent in the refrigerator door where a foil wrapped potato missile impacted with incredible force.


Rosette is bustling around the kitchen, looking for something to smother the flames with.]

--w should I know?! Stoves you just close the door and wait for it to die!

[Chrono rounds on him in short order, apparently unfazed by strangers in the apartment.

But—]

If you're a kitchen disaster too, you probably shouldn't be in here!

[There's another heavy thud as she throws something ELSE at it. Surely the roast pan will fit over it.]

[He promptly covers his ears as she chucks the pan.]

If it didn't work the first three times it won't start working now!

[Addie's really grateful for everyone who helped her when she first arrived, which is why it's pretty alarming to see one of those people in a room that's apparently on fire. It's enough to motivate her to finally figure out how to respond to transmissions, though it takes her a good few minutes.]

I've no experience with anything like that, but I believe there are devices in the kitchens that give water on demand. Perhaps that could help put the fire out.

[The view of the ceiling becomes more and more obscure as the smoke turns from a light grey wisp to rolling black clouds.

In the distance, you can hear shouted conversation.]

"No, at the BASE of the fire!"

"THAT'S THE WHOLE COUNTER!"

[There's. A long pause. With a lot of shouting in the background. At some point he retreats while Rosette lifts progressively larger objects to throw at the problem. Then his face comes into view of the tablet, upside down.

Well, this is embarrassing.]

[The tablet's view of the ceiling steadily grows fainter and fainter as smoke begins to cloud even the ceiling lamp.

In the distance, you can hear shouted conversation:]

"WAIT! We need those!"

"We need living space more."

"ARRGG. JUST LET ME SHOOT IT!"

[Oz can't see him on the screen. But at some point he'll hear a shout from the kitchen, that might be in answer.]

Remember our conversation about someone having to do all the cooking!

[Being in unit #309 he actually manages to smell the disaster before hearing about it. But it isn't until flicking on the tablet that he finds out what is actually going on.

As if being trapped in a burning chateau hadn't been enough, and subsequently getting lost in the desert, but now someone is trying to set the building on fire.]

Great. I see I've been brought back here only to die in a common house fire. How do you screw up using a microwave?

I didn't! It did it all on its own!

[He recognizes both of them. When he answers, he has a shocked and (maybe) slightly impressed look on his face. That level of destruction is hard to reach.]

[There's a lot of yelling, fighting, some incredibly odd sounds of ... banging and ... what even WAS that last noise. But eventually, one of the two of them returns to the screen.

She's half covered in soot and one of her sleeves is singed, but she looks healthy if bedraggled.]

Eh? Who's on - Kano? [She picks up the tablet, squinting at the screen. There's a blurry flash a moment while she uses her sleeve to clean the face.]

If there wasn't an actual fire happening Sango would be laughing pretty hard, but for now she's just sort of concerned.]

[But as soon as they're inside, miniature Kirara takes a leap towards the fire and transforms mid-air in a burst of more fire, landing smack on top of the electrical disaster.]

[ ...........he has flip the circuit breakers typed out by the time the view on his screen flips over to face the ceiling instead of Chrono's face, after which it seems like a more practical decision to head to the scene of the likely-to-soon-be-a-small-disaster in person. And as rapidly as possible.

(He stabs a finger at Enter anyway while running, just in case.)

It's easy enough to locate 304 by nose alone, let alone commotion, and it isn't long at all before Chrys rounds the corner of the doorway with a fire extinguisher and the fleeting thought that if advances in technology mean the omission of certain safeguards in facilities design he is going to be exceedingly unimpressed. ]

[The scene is some level of controlled chaos at this point, before our fire eater came, there is extinguisher foam all over, as well as wet towels ... and a climbing fire. A few buckets filled with water sit just inside of the kitchen, due to Chrono's just vigilance in keeping people from killing themselves on their floor.

In the smoke, there's a nun who'd picked up the tablet.]

This one says flip some circuit breaks!

[ And if he finds someone inside the apartment, his first words will be, "Are you alright?" and then to, maybe, cast a healing spell. ]

[He's just pointing towards his device at what would be the smoke, and... then he shakes his head.]

[Where Chrono had dropped his tablet left Yuri with a nearly panoramic view of the ceiling becoming darker and darker with smoke, and very little of anything else... He's barely done with the last disclaimer when an ominous shadow darkens the view even further.


Rosette picks up the tablet and the video turns into a lurching, sickening view as she shakes the tablet.]

That was a perfectly fine recipe! Nothing screwed up! It was the box! It's defective. Or possessed.
