A version of Earth where a totalitarian group known as the UE has taken control of nearly everything, and the Initiative opposes them. The UE is planning on stealing resources from other worlds to continue their little war, which the Initiative is using as justification for using the technology available here that allows for snatching people from other worlds and even other times to help them fight.

Some aspects of it have been difficult. Where I'm from, the most advanced weaponry we have is crossbows. It's also taken some time to get used to meeting humans that aren't familiar with other races; Krynn has a number of them.
