Really, I don't know why people are so excited about this space voyage. I built a rocket for the lady of my old mansion, and while I didn't get to ride it myself, I have it on good authority that space is exceedingly dull. There's just nothing there - it's almost completely empty, and the people who live there are boorish and rude.

As for the beach, I'd be staying home if I could. The sun is bad for my skin.

It's about the sheer challenge in getting there! In piercing the barriers between heaven and earth using the pinnacles of human technology!

Building the solutions the hard way took decades of research for my world - it was about the journey as much as the result, yanno?

If I'm being entirely fair, it was helpful to have at least a little access to information about the outside world's rockets before I began building my own.

I'm sure there's plenty out there if you go far enough, but the vast majority of it really does seem to be empty space.

There are places where it has, but my contact with them over the last few decades has been admittedly sparse.

Yes, a three-stage rocket. I had a certain amount of help, but the design was mostly mine.

I just designed the one. It took a few months to put all the finishing touches on it.
