[The image first shows an open book lying on a table. It seems to be open at the very back, though looking at the page on the left would show that it's full of text so it obviously was supposed to continue where the cover now is. Closer observation would show that several pages after that one were apparently ripped out.
It stays on this image for several moments, or at least what the person showing it thinks is long enough for said observations to be made. Finally, the screen does a very quick 180 to show a livid Elliot.]
WHO IS THE CRIMINAL RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS?!
Library books are the property of EVERYONE WHO USES THAT LIBRARY! YOU CAN'T JUST TEAR OUT PAGES WHEREVER YOU SEE FIT! IT'S COMMON COURTESY!
ESPECIALLY NOT IN THE FINAL BOOK OF ONE OF THE GREATEST SERIES EVER WRITTEN!!!

I haven't noticed that many in this place yet. I have to suggest it to most people. [Well, there's Leo. He's not sure if he'd trust Oz in that kind of a discussion (that Edgar fan...).]
no subject
Well, I know Oz likes it. There's bound to be others! Heck, it even sounds interesting to me, and I'm not a big reader!
no subject
I doubt Oz Vessalius can see enough in it to guess the ending. If enough people read it, there might be a chance.

( She smiles; hah, well then, looks like there's a difference in opinions here. She loves that! )
Then what're you waiting for? Sell people on the storyline! Borrow the rest of the books before the page eater comes back and steals from those, too, and forces you to retell the entire series yourself!
no subject
I've been trying to! And how are other people supposed to read it if I've borrowed all of them?! I'm not a librarian!
no subject
( But she has to grin and laugh. )
You bring them to people, silly! And keep them safe. The librarians there are all volunteers. You see how things look in the aisles, don't you?
no subject
There's still a sense of order that needs to be maintained! I don't have time to constantly watch them, anyway!
no subject
( She has ideas. The concept of someone acting selfishly while trying to make people happy is hardly a new one in literature, or in life. )
What is you keep them organized on a bookshelf at home? Why have a constant guard?
( Especially if Break is responsible. Collette shakes her head listening to that conversation, considering Break is the Peek-a-Boo Shadow Man. )

I can't ensure that my roommates wouldn't use them carelessly or damage them in some other manner! [Including that cat that just won't go away, totally not his fault she stays with him.]
no subject
Won't they suffer the same risk in the library?
no subject
Exactly! Most of the fans seem to love him, but they can't see that even though he claims to care about others, he never acts like he does!
Of course! So if I can't ensure their safety, it's pointless to complicate the borrowing any more.

( Makes more sense regarding Oz's own admiration, if she wants to think on that. She sounds honestly curious, and she is, wondering how Elliot does or does not connect to these fictional characters, and what kind of mirror in life he's seen to be so against the selfless sacrificing kind. It's hard having people you care about tell you their life is worth nothing if, by proxy, they can preserve yours, among other things.
Thank you, Barnaby Brooks!!! )
I don't know, sometimes it's worth the complication to keep important things closer to you. Whatever works for you, man!
no subject
It's most like despite caring about them, he never actually considered their feelings! He thought he cared about them, but when it came down to it he only cared about himself!
[...Yeah, he needs to think about this for a bit.] I suppose so... Any remotely responsible library wouldn't let a single person check out that many books at once, though.
no subject
( She doesn't argue it -- she's run into it herself many a time, and it's not easier just because they say they care as they try to get themselves killed. )
Hahaha, oh man, sure, maybe a responsible one, but this one really isn't!
no subject
That's obvious enough now. Still, they should tighten their regulations after this incident!
no subject
Though I'm serious, have you seen how much it costs to get decent paper around here?
no subject
[Though now that he thinks about it...] I don't recall noticing any for sale, actually. [Since he doesn't go shopping much.]
no subject
( She snorts softly, amused. )
There's not so much, but I know a place, if you're interested.
no subject
It might be worth checking. No matter how useful these things are, they're still strange.

...If I'm unable to find any, I'll keep that in mind.

WHAT-?! SINCE WHEN ARE WE FRIENDS?!
no subject
Since now! Later, Elliot!
[possibly not here]
[Next thing he knows, people are probably gonna call him "gentle" again. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!]
