[ Feferi looks worried-- frowning, braiding and unbraiding a lock of her hair ad nauseum. She doesn't speak at first, distracted by something offscreen as soon as she turns the feed on. She brings her attention back to the tablet after a few seconds. ]

I have been thinking a lot lately, and I think I understand now what other people have been saying the whole time.

We should leave here. I mean it, just leave the Hold! They cannot do anything about it if we do. I know they can't send us back, and they're probably not going to kill us because they need us, and even if they tried, I bet we could take them on! We fight and win against the UE, why couldn't we fight and win against the Initiative? We have magicians, scientists, doctors... everything! We could make it on our own if we wanted to!

[ She gets herself all worked up the more, the finally sighs and deflates a little, her shoulders sagging. ]

I don't want to be here anymore, I am tired of being the scapegoat for something we didn't do.

[ And, quieter: ] I wish my lusus was here...

Well, if there is one thing I know, it's that Earth is very very big! There has to be somewhere we'd be safe!

That's correct! 25,000 miles around! However, from what we know, most of it is inhabitable by this point, yeah? Poisoned swamplands, deserts filled with mutant, monstrous animals... You'd have to learn where the other remote inhabited locations where, then manage to get there without the UE scooping you up, or succumbing to the elements. It's a lot to think about!

[Aradia finally went to get her eyes fixed a few days ago, about when she stopped needing help to find the doors but still couldn't read. That was when it had stopped being an experiment with blindness and started being an annoying bout of glaucoma.

The only weird thing was, not long after that, she'd started seeing these weird black ghosts floating around everywhere, in addition to the normal ones. Sometimes they'd try to hide in the shadows (albeit not very successfully, to her eyes), but other times they'd sneak up and whisper the most annoying things at her. She'd already had to wave them off several times. They were like some kind of incompetent poltergeists - more obnoxious than harmful.

Weird, huh? Oh well.

So anyway, she's just over in the other room when she sees Feferi made a video post about something totally unrelated to any of that. Rather than respond via video, though, she takes the extra two steps over to her door and knocks on it.]

Hey, Feferi? I saw your video.

[fintastic]

[ Feferi looks up from the bed, but doesn't stand up. She's sitting cross legged, and dang it that is too much work. ]

Oh, Aradia. Come in.
