[A rare video feed from Kaneis comes on, partly because one of his roommates had to turn on the tablet. It becomes quickly apparently why- it seems his hands and locks of his hair are tangled up with strips of brightly colored leopard print duct tape. Someone attempted to do home repairs when they knew absolutely nothing about home repair. The background shows one giant hole in the wall about six inches in diameter, just to give you an idea. Allen is next to him, trying to get some of the duct tape off]

Okay okay- I'll ask! Just get me outta this stuff!

[He gives a huff and looks at the camera. He looks rather disgruntled]

Say, does anyone out there know where a person can get a couch? Ours kinda...got wrecked the other day and we can't fix it.

Oh and, stuff to seal up holes in the wall? That'd be good too.

[He comes to a quick stop and stares at Cross, for a moment unable to think of anything to say. There's his confirmation, it seems, and his stomach still drops.

But Allen's temper from twenty-or-so minutes ago seems to have abated a bit, and he's left with a sort of weariness that's becoming increasingly familiar (Cross is yet another Exorcist snatched from home, and if the Initiative can grab him, nobody is safe), and dread (Cross Marian.)

He's keeping an eye out for any... weapons.]

...It's been a while. [Nice to see you again, too.]

[ relax (for now), Allen. Cross doesn't have his array of weapons cocked and ready to go.





okay, that's a damn lie. he always has his weapons ready at any moment's notice. he just doesn't have them in his hand(s) right now, or so Allen can only see. for all Allen knows, Cross could be evoking Magdala Curtain on his hand(s) right now. ]

For you, apparently. For me, I finished having a conversation with you before my arrival here. [ and he descends the stairs as he talks, jumping and landing on the ground with ease once he hits the unstable, or completely missing, stairs. ] How long have you been in this dump?

[Yeah, you're not fooling anyone.

...And that response is both strikingly specific and terribly vague at once, and Allen raises an eyebrow at him as he watches his descent. 'A conversation'? Though he supposes it isn't worth wondering what conversation he might be talking about; it's clear Cross is from later - just like the rest of them.]

And what have you personally accomplished for the Initiative?

[He takes some issue with the phrasing,]

There have been missions, and attacks on the city. I do what I can... [ which more often than not these days, isn't enough ] But I don't fight for the Initiative.

[aequivoci]

Ah, yes. [ he starts pacing casually, walking over to one side of the room. ] You fight for the natives, right? And every world connected to this.

[debtor]

[But of course. He nods.]

Yes.

What will you do?

[aequivoci]

[ he raises his eyebrow with a smirk at Allen. ]

What do you think I'll do, idiot apprentice?

[debtor]

[Go boozing, whoring, evading. Racking up debts. Will Cross fight against the UE? Allen is genuinely uncertain. Could he really be bothered to? Did he accept the Initiative's weapon just to torment Allen...

He answers the question to his question with another question.]

Have you already found out who else from our world is here?

[ spoiler re: the Initiative's weapon: yes, he did. :) ]

Five more Exorcists and one pesky Noah. If time continued back in our world, Komui would be having a fit over so many Exorcists disappearing.

[GOD DARN IT]

[He says nothing of his concerns re: time continuing back home. But nearly half their forces, disappearing in the span of a few months? Unthinkable.] More arrive every month.

There was another man from our world here few months ago, but only briefly. I think he was a Noah.

[ that makes him raise an eyebrow. ]

Two Noah? Oh my. It would be hilarious if they ever bring Fatso here, though.

Don't say something like that! [DON'T GIVE THE INITIATIVE IDEAS.] That wouldn't be hilarious at all!

Too late, I already spoke it into existence. [ he just kanyeshrugs. it's not like he can reverse time and make sure he doesn't say it!! ]
