Oh. But then what's the appeal of drinking it? I know it's a soporific, but...

Lowering of inhibitions, a general sense in some people that it's more 'fun'. And a lack of long-term view, or at least a willingness to trade fun now for pain later.

I did it once. I felt emotionally worse when drunk and physically terrible when I woke up the next morning.

Exactly.

And my skills tend to rely on my ability to be stable, steady, and careful. I was none of those when drunk. So, not again, no.

So I recommend not doing it. Or doing it once, just to know what it's like, in case someone finds a way to slip some of these things to you, and you'll know what it feels like and can get away or call for help. But have a friend nearby, because it'll be unpleasant.

I don't intend to get drunk again if I can ever help it. Ugh.
