Hello there! I'm planning to make an expedition into the outlands this month and do some rudimentary mapping of the area. If you'd like to join me or have been exploring the area before and would be willing to act as an experienced set of hands during the trip, I'm happy to have you along. Please just make sure to be properly equipped with survival gear and the like. Depending on how much time it takes for everyone to get their kit sorted, I'd like to head out on the 10th and return on the 13th -- Initiative missions permitting, of course.

For anyone who's been to the outlands: have you any suggestions or tips for the rest of us? I hear it's largely empty wasteland, but it never hurts to be prepared for this sort of thing.

You're welcome along. Do you, ah-- it may be a bit dangerous out there. Do you know how to defend yourself?

Yes, you don't have to worry about that. I'm from a magic guild, and so are my friends, if they want to come along with me. We've been in dangerous situations before. [ Probably even more dangerous than the wastelands in some cases. ]

[Tintin nods - if she says she can handle it, then who is he to question it?] I don't know anything about magic guilds, but if you say so. I'd recommend packing provisions; I'm not sure how much of the local fauna is considered edible.

You don't have anything like that where you're from? [ She hms, nodding. ] Provisions I can handle - I'll see if I can bring enough for whoever else is coming too, if you like. Assuming the group isn't impossibly huge that is.

Nothing at all. As far as I know, magic isn't real in my world. There are stage magicians, but-- I mean, there's certainly some sciences that seem to mimic what some people here deem to be 'magic' but it's not really the same, I don't think.

As for provisions, it's probably more fair to have everyone responsible for their own. Though I suppose having a surplus to fall back on wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing!

That's awful... ah, but I hear that about a lot of worlds. Either magic doesn't exist, or they think it's just smoke and mirrors. [ And that last one was pretty darn insulting. ]

I'll make enough for the people coming with me, and a little extra then. Do you have a headcount yet?

[Tintin quickly reviews his list of names and the responses to his original post. It takes him a few moments longer than it really ought to for him to navigate the tablet.] By the looks of things right now there'll be five of us - not including anyone you might bring along with you.

That's not too bad. Do you know what the others are capable of? IF it comes down to a fight, I mean.

Most of them seem to think they're fairly acceptable when it comes to self defense. I'd hesitate to put too much stock in someone's personal assurance that they'll be fine but-- I think so long as there's a few of us in the group that can do a bit of hand holding here and there, we ought to be fine

You're right. It sounds like everything's going to be well in hand. [ Unless monsters attack and things get crazy anyway. ]
