Of course. Vampires aren't born, they are created.

Vampire. [It's a word she's heard a few times since her arrival, but it still feels strange on her lips.] I will confess that I am largely ignorant of the race.

We are commonly referred to as 'undead.' We feed upon blood to live.

You will have anticipated my question, no doubt- what manner of blood?

Any manner, so long as it comes from a live source. Though, some species' blood is more nourishing than others, and moreso if they are physically healthy.

That would depend upon your definition of 'harm.' Kill? No. I don't require enough blood in one feeding to kill the average mortal. But the blood has to come out somehow. And most of the ways are painful.

Of course, they could always give it to me voluntarily. And there are perfectly safe ways to do so.

And do you obtain your nourishment safely and voluntarily?

When I am able. Though, the synthetic blood the Initiative provides is quite bland.
