[The video feed is almost painful to look at. It's fragmented, and disorienting. Someone hasn't fixed the lens they cracked a while back, apparently.

But at least the video is short? For once, Yosuke's not chatty. He gets right to the point.]

I'm in ten-oh-five. My name is Yosuke. I...can a doctor come here? The clinic is far. I can pay.

[And then for good measure:]

Please?

[The kid isn't bleeding, and aside from being damp and dirty -very dirty, he must have just come back from a hike- doesn't appear to be in bad shape. But he does sound sincere about the request.]

(Ooc note! He's back from his hike tonight guys, and if you were in on the log go on and do your own things. It's that time. I sent out charts so you know what to do!

[Yosuke's a bit embarrassed to have someone listening in on his digestive woes, but at this point it's not like he can think of much else to do to gross that guy out, and he's still there. So Yosuke walks past again and takes a seat on the bed gingerly. Ugh.]

Everything in my whole body has to be evacuated by now. How much bad stuff can even be left? Do we really need to take the blood out too?

[Billy's hand clenches on the blanket.]

That's the problem. Your blood cells could be damaged, and you need those. You'll get drugs to stimulate the growth of healthy new ones, or you can have them donated from the blood supply.

[Yosuke offers, finally noticing that he's not the only one who seems to be freaked out about this. Shakily, he pours a glass of the water and chugs it. His stomach doesn't like the rough treatment, but he's thirstier than he realized. It's too good to sip.

When the water is drained, Yosuke pops the fever reducer and nausea medicine dutifully, then gets to his feet.]

Let's go, then. Maybe it won't take long, and I can take a nap after it. That was a long hike, ya know? I'm kinda wiped.

Okay.

I know it's embarrassing but you can lean on me if you need to. And if you really need to, there's always the wheelchair in my room. When you're this sick I don't think anyone would begrudge you a little support.

[Billy opens the door, then waits patiently.]

[He jokes, wrapping his arms around himself and shivering. He's still pretty sure he's not as sick as Billy thinks he is. Just the everyday kind of miserable. But he's not sure enough to take the chance of dying from it.

Then again, if that is the case, even treatment might not work. But it's easier not to think about that right now, so he pushes it out of his mind and continues with the joke, faking some good cheer for added effect.]

Then again, she'd probably win right now.

[Billy just smiles sympathetically.]

I made her a great wheelchair with some special speed options. Maybe she'd let you try it out. But...come on. Think you can come down to the second floor? If not,I'll manage.

[Billy is a bit taller, and an awful lot more built, so Yosuke doesn't doubt the guy could manage if he had to. But he's not a fan of being carried away kicking and screaming, so it's probably best to cooperate.]

Ah...no. I mean yeah. I can walk. I'll go.

Okay, then let's go. I'll stay in the waiting room when we're there if you like.

[Billy starts the walk, a little slower than usual. He's not exactly invading Yosuke's space, just on the very edge to step in if something happens.]

You'll be better soon.

[He doesn't know it. He just has to believe it.]

Yeah. It'll be fine.

[Agrees Yosuke, hoping it only feels like a lie. Suddenly, he's thinking about his mom. What would she do if he never came home? And Souji. And Nanako. The whole team, minus the three who are here, would never know what happened. He'll, they'd probably be waiting for him to turn up on TV, or strung from a telephone pole. It's a disturbing thought.

He picks up his pace a bit, ignoring the small protests from his still vaguely unsettled body. Maybe here they can do more. Maybe it wasn't a high dose. Maybe it'll be fine, really and actually fine, and this brief sickness will be the worst of it. That could happen, right?

Except that thinking about the others reminds him of something, and he has to stop. He curls up again around the way his stomach ripples with a new wave of dread. Naoto. He'd been feeling so rotten, he nearly forgot.]

...There's someone else.

Someone else?

[Billy stops in his tracks, stepping close to Yosuke to offer himself as a weight if needed.]

Someone else who was poisoned?

I don't know! Maybe. She...she was there, though.

[Yosuke sinks down beside the wall, until he's sitting on the floor in a big imaginary puddle of overwhelmed helplessness. This time, he really screwed up.]

She didn't even want to go...

[Billy recognizes the guilt. He sinks down beside Yosuke, tentatively touching his shoulder.]

You didn't know. Don't beat yourself up about that. Trust me, I've done it over similar things before. Come on---we'll get you help, and when we get there we'll inform the medics that they need to find and treat her, okay?

Or I can send them a message now.

[He has his tablet out, ready to go.]

[This time, Yosuke doesn't object to being touched. In fact he doesn't say anything at all for a long moment. This situation is so much worse than he thought it would be. And he hadn't thought it would be good in the first place.]

That won't work. I can't send strangers to tell her something like this.

Then call her. I can call up the connection if you just want to be on the screen and talk, okay?

[Billy squeezes his shoulder, though he speaks hurriedly to try to get through this.]

And if we need to go in person we'll go, but both of you need help as soon as possible.

Yeah. We'll go. Right now. It's um...downstairs. The 3rd floor.

[Yosuke directs, grabbing Billy's arm for balance and getting back to his feet. He picks up the pace now as he starts towards the lift again. It's best to catch her as soon as possible.]

[Billy hurries at his side, determined to take the two of them to safety. He hits the third floor button and off they go.]

I have the medicine to get her going. You do the talking.

No problem.

[Yosuke agrees. When the doors open he hurries out, and a few minutes later knocks at Naoto's door. He puts a palm against the wall, slumping over, and rests for a moment while he waits for someone to answer.

It's not until someone does so that he realizes there is a problem after all.]

(Up to you. I assumed he'd be sticking around but if it's easier he can go contact the medical staff ahead of time and I'll ping you back here later? I'm cool with whichever.)

[Billy steps back, doing his waiting outside. When he's sure that the two are talking, he calls the medical staff and gives a thorough report of the poisoning symptoms and his small treatments. Now it's just a matter of getting both of them there.]

((Yes, he'll stay! Bringing Naoto in or doing that in a separate thread is fine.))

[The only problem with this plan is that it isn't Naoto that answers the door. It's Nill. She looks wary as she opens the door, but the wariness melts almost immediately to something that looks a lot more concerned. She bends over slightly, one hand hovering worriedly in the air, uncertain if she should touch Yosuke or not.

She glances at Billy uncertainly. You, she doesn't recognize. A friend of Yosuke's? What was wrong with him?]

Ah...this is where you live, huh.

[It's not phrased as a question exactly, since it's obviously the truth. Yosuke straightens up, but his arms wrap around his core even then. He doesn't have it in him to try and look cool at the moment. His recently washed hair is still damp around his face, sticking to his slightly pink skin. He swallows hard, and makes his inquiry. The tone is urgent. He doesn't feel well, and there isn't time to apologize at the moment.]

Is Shirogane home? It's really important.

[reassures]

[Her lips thin into a straight line, though not out of agitation. She nods, regardless of whether or not the first bit was a question, and continues hovering worriedly for a moment, unsure of what to do. He doesn't look good at all-- why was he here looking for Naoto?

It's hard not to know the connection between them, even if Naoto hasn't mentioned anything about it to Nill. Perks of being a telepath. Even so, this seemed strange. She wants to tell him he should go to the clinic, but... Naoto. Right. Maybe Naoto could help. After a pause Nill straightens, and gesture for the both of them to come inside, before she disappears into the apartment herself to quickly go and knock on Naoto's door.]

[Billy follows silently, checking the container of medicine he carries. He has the symptom treatments and a neutralizing agent for the radiation, he just needs Naoto to stop it from getting any worse. Naoto's roommate might actually be the best person to handle that, he thinks.]

Hang in there.

[He whispers his reassurance, hoping against hope that he's not too late for them.]

[The noise just beyond her door is... well, annoying. All Naoto wants to do is just sleep-- after all it's just a fever and it will go away in time. She's been sick before.

But a small part of her thinks it's rude to not answer when people come knocking.

So she drags herself out of bed, pausing only to wrap her coat around her shoulders. She's, uh... not expecting Yosuke, her roommate and a complete stranger to be there.]

May I help you?

[Her voice is drier than usual, which is strange considering she'd downed some water just before crawling into bed.]

Hey, uh... Since we got back-I'm in the bathroom a lot. And hot, you know? Billy thinks....um. He thinks its not just a virus from the rain. Out there...are you sick too?

[He doesn't reach out to feel her face, but it's not because he anticipates a bad reaction. In fact, he often invites those. It's as simple as knowing that even if she's feverish he won't know. He's feverish too. And something rare for him, guilty and concerned as well.]

[Billy looks apologetic but determined.]

I'm sorry we have to meet under these circumstances, ma'am. But I think you both have radiation poisoning. Yosuke says you two were out there for an extended period, and those areas still have radiation particles from the nuclear fallout. I gave Yosuke some treatment that's helped him a little, I have the same for you.
