I'd rather choose my own path and destination, rather than simply hope the unexpected end will be good.

But there's no guarantee your chosen destination will be what you expected. Unless you've been there before. And sometimes not even then.

And then, of course, sometimes you wind up here and you don't get to pick.

But I think, if you worry too much about what isn't promised, a person might think that actions are meaningless, always.
