So, I want some people's opinions on the sentient-weapons thing. It's just something I've been thinking about, since I haven't had a chance to use mine much during the missions I've been on. I'm planning to switch to something more practical for my needs, but...
Are they actually as useful as they seem, in your opinion? I mean, where I'm from, intelligent items are kind of a pain in the ass, to say the least. Always demanding things, and if they're strong enough, they can make you do stuff if they don't like you.
I don't see as much of that here, but... It makes a girl cautious, you know?
(OOC: At some point, this post is going to inspire Pidonus to switch her sentient weapon from a whip over to her voice - making her bardic magics, bardic music, and suggestion spell more effective. If someone with a voice ability wants to suggest the idea to her, that'd be great!)

The most common fear of sensible D&D characters: Housecats.
Do not piss off Ander. Ever.
most of my D&D characters loved cats/had cat familiars
This only makes Pidonus scream and me laugh
Housecats are dangerous.
considering that i mostly played chaotics or neutral evils, the cats fit

They're less terrifying. Weirdly.

I guess so.

Why does everyone look at me like I'm crazy when I go into this?

I never saw it as worth the risk, though.

[scratches her head.]
Huh. I don't even remember. But yeah, I have my earthbending, so why would I wanna grab something like a weapon.
no subject
Might I ask what Earthbending is, just out of curiousity?

[if it sounds like she's tired of asking that question, she is. no hard feelings though.]

I don't see a lot of that where I'm from, honestly.

[ A sentient Excalibur? No thank you. ]
Re: video;
[It can always get worse.]

[ The moment her's starts dancing and singing, she's tossing it in the nearest lake. Sure hope Koltira enjoys random swords in his frozen lake. ]
Re: video;
[Probably a sensible route. Unless it decides to chase.]

Re: video;
Makes a little more sense then.

What are you implying with sentient weapons becoming to intelligent?
Re: voice
People are saying they don't do that here but...

Re: voice
Far as I care, they're all annoying as hell, though.
