In Spira, people play a game called Blitzball. Every year there's a big tournament in Luca, and people come from all over to watch it and root for their favorite team. It was one of the few really good things we had in Spira. A time for everyone to get together and have fun, and forget about their sorrows for a little while.

I wondered if there's anything like that here? Maybe not a sport, but some kind of regular event where everyone gathers to celebrate and have fun?

Oh, no, the whole thing's clear. Like a giant bubble. There are rows and rows of raised seats in a circle, with the dome in the middle. You can see everything.

I would ask how one gets such a thing to work, but I'm certain I couldn't fathom the engineering.

Though, it sounds like a popular sport to have such an undertaking of science going into it.

I don't really know how it works, actually. I guess I've never thought about it before. But yes, it's very popular. Nearly every town in Spira has a blitzball team.

Every town? That's incredible, miss. [There and he couldn't name many towns that could actually support a granary, none the less a sports stadium.]

It certainly sounds interesting, though. I wonder if there's footage of it in the library.

Well, not every town has its own stadium. Most teams have to practice in oceans or lakes that are near them. Most towns in Spira are much too small to have something like that.
