I don't really like doing that announcement thing, but since I'm her roommate... Snow White's gone home! Which is good, that means she's finally back with James, who's her total love at first sight wonderful husband and she has a daughter that maybe she'll get to see now so I'm happy for her. Right, and Al left too, but that was last month. Uh... a few others, but I don't really know the full list.

It makes me curious about something else, though. What do you guys do to show you remember and care about people who you'll probably never see again in this lifetime?

( She grins for her own sake, ending the feed in order to get herself ready for a move downstairs. She's mostly dressed warm enough to handle the outdoors, so she grabs her coat and thanks herself for having the forethought to have her outside shoes on today.

In manual chair, Collette's down in the lobby closer to ten minutes later, hair pulled back in a loose, messy ponytail, scarf around her neck. She waves to one of the Initiative workers watering a plant in the corner before letting herself outside, into the cooler air.

Hard to believe spring was around the corner! )

[ Moments later, Drift pulls to a stop outside and his holomatter gets out to greet Collette.

He's wearing something less. "Japan" today. Looks like he decided to fiddle with things a bit. Just a regular shirt and jeans. He bows politely and gives her his best grin. ]

Your chariot awaits. I think that's the saying, isn't it? Is that right?

I've heard it in a movie once!

( It's good enough for her. )

You'll be able to move my chair back inside after I get in?

( The holoform and actual form is a weird juxtaposition she doesn't entirely understand. Much like saying she's about to get into Drift sounds like a bad joke -- one that makes her smile. Some hitched rides were more literal than others. She knew some of what it was like to bring others along as passengers, for what it might be worth! )

[ He nods. ]

Absolutely.

[ He doesn't mind it. Sunstreaker had the same kind of situation. Usually, he would have just scooped her up and carried her over but that's. Rude. He's getting a hang of the whole, 'don't manhandle' people thing, even with the best intentions. So he opens the passenger side door and helps her in. ]

( She appreciates that he doesn't assume, though had he asked, she probably would have said yes. Its the quiet way he helps her without making a fuss that does more than anything else to make her feel okay right now -- like it's no big deal, all of this isn't, and they can look forward to just the fun sort of things you do with friends who matter to each other.

Which means once she's inside, she pats the center console fondly. )

( For all his holoform gives him an easy face to respond to, this is really him, and she's not about to forget that. She doesn't want to. )

What do you even make of half the roads around here? We've still got potholes the size of the moon on some streets! Have you ever ended up in one of those on accident?

[ There's a soft rev of his engine in response to the pat and he pulls away slowly from the curb. ]

Potholes? Pff. Puh-lease.

I've been driving for millions of years. To me, this is like walking. Natural. Not to mention my frame is built for it.

Potholes? More like. Notholes. HAH-ACK!

[ He definitely just found one. He ( very superfluously) clears his throat and keeps driving. ]

( No chance of her speaking as she starts laughing, arms hugging her stomach as she falls back against the seat and leans against his door. Oh gosh, she's not coming up for air anytime soon!

It makes is a little more okay when her eyes burn hot and the tears aren't just from laugher. )
