AUDIO; log 01

Look, I'm still getting this whole thing to sink in. I still can't really wrap my head around it, but I have to know one thing.

Is there a little girl out there? Her name's Clementine. She's eight, has a baseball cap on with the letter D on it.

And Clem, if you're there, please tell me.

There is much wrong with them, in a bit less colorful vernacular. They pull people that they think will give them an edge in their silly war. Small bodies and underdeveloped wills are apparently necessary.

No we do not.

They're a boorish lot, but well-protected and well-armed and seem to not take attempts at leaving lightly. However, they allow us to do as we will as long as we stay and occasionally do as they say. Apparently everything is for our own "greater good" as well as theirs, but I've yet to find a "greater good" that actually produces a decent outcome.

Yes, well, you get shot at. Quite a bit.

Lara Croft. A pleasure to meet you, Lee. Perhaps it would be more so under different circumstances, at any rate.

It just means you have the right amount of experience to survive.

Confidence is a sure way to avoid death. At any rate ... I will keep an eye out for your child. Being lost is frightening enough. In a place like this it would only be worse.
