The only brightness in the room is that cast off by the tablet's screen and the end of a cigarette. In the glow, Sho's skin looks far too pale and his blue eyes almost having a reflective sheen to them. ]

Is it usual for people to disappear without a word? Just curious.

And whoever's assigned to room 808, don't move the blinds. I'd hate to die a lingering death of getting too much sunlight.

Anyway, I've never heard of someone who's allergic to sunlight! Does that mean you can only go out at night? Have you always been allergic?

I'm Sho. [He really has to wonder why the Initiative keeps on putting young women in with him although what she said made him wonder.] A Summoner? You call the dead to life or something?

Or I can walk around when there's heavy cloud cover. Not always, no.

Oh, no--I don’t raise the dead! Summoners are able to call forth aeons to help them in battle. Or at least we we did, before all the aeons left.

Aeons? Is that a kind of spirit?

Kind of. They're the dreams of the fayth, but they're real creatures. Fayth are people who have bound themselves into statues so that they can join with the Summoner and become aeons.

Huh, that sounds weird. [ So says the Japanese vampire. ] But I guess every world has differences from the next one.

I guess so. I didn't even know there were other worlds until I came here.

It's a common theory in my world. they call it parallel earths or something like that.

What kind of ghost stories does your world have?

Hmm, there were stories about Zanarakand. It was a city that was destroyed a thousand years ago, but before that it was full of machina and the city never slept. Buildings so tall... and all lit up at night... they say it was beautiful.

...Sounds like a lot of cities in back home, though most might look beautiful but a lot of them were only that way from the outside. Inside, they just had a lot of grime like any other city you can find.

I don't know if Zanarkand was dirty or not when it was populated. When I saw it, it had been in ruins for a thousand years.

It probably was. Most cities are, once people are in it.

Did you used to live in a big city?

I did. It was Mallepa on the ocean in a place called China.

I lived by the ocean, too! It was in Besaid, though--a tiny little village. But we were happy there.

For all it's problems, I was happy in Mallepa too. It's home after all.

One of my roommates disappeared quite recently too. We never really had much chances to talk though.

[Tails has to be back home. Sonic refuses to think that he's just... gone.]

Since we've had people leave and come back from their world, I'm sure that's what's going on! It's like, I dunno... our worlds realize they actually lost somethin' and go back to get it.
