Say, if you're an alien, I have a question for you. What was your world like? Do you miss it? Please tell me about it if you feel like it. Did you get to fly a space ship? Was that fun? What kind of fun things did you do? Are humans weird? What's the weirdest thing about them? Do you like humans? Did you ever meet humans when you were an alien?

[Okay, that's a bunch of questions. But she doesn't self-correct.]

Also, does anyone here know how to do magic? And if you do, is it magic you can teach to anybody? I think it would be pretty neat to know how to do some magic, and it could come in handy sometime. If you do please let me know.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about magic, but perhaps I can answer a few of the other questions!

Alternia is...well, dangerous, and a rough place to live, but there's also something lovely about its wildness. I do miss it, although I don't miss the fighting and violence that were so widespread everywhere there. [She chuckles.] No, I've never left the planet, let alone tried flying a space ship! I can barely handle normal technology, nevermind that.

I didn't ever meet humans before I arrived here, no, but I do like them! I find some of their customs strange of course, but overall the ones I've met have been very helpful and friendly and that means a lot to me!

Mm! Thank you for answering the questions. [She doesn't realize Disciple is a troll, though. She hasn't really heard any of the kids refer to it as "Alternia."] I'm glad people are treating you all right. Well, we're all comrades in arms here.

...that really is true here, isn't it? We're all in the same situation together. Still, not everyone would react so well to it.

Not everybody has! Newcomers have already caused strife here... but that's been the case everywhere I've been, so.

What did you do at home?

It's a pity to hear that... Still, overall most everyone seems to get along, don't they?

I travelled a great deal! With dear friends of mine.

Uh huh. So actually we're pretty fortunate. And hopefully the people who've hurt the people here will get found and punished for it.

Did your race live in cities?

What happened exactly then? Was it really bad?

Some of us do! But we live all over, really, in cities, in villages, on our own out in the wild.

Yeah... somebody, uh - started this, like... disease. That made people turn into zombies. I don't have those at home really, but I guess some people do? First these cute animals showed up in the courtyard, and some people took them, and then they started biting...

That's terrible! It doesn't sound like someone not adapting, it sounds like someone who just wants to make people miserable no matter where they are. Ugh... We have revenants back home, they're similar enough to zombies, in some places they come out during the day. They're awful. Another good reason for us to be nocturnal.

Yeah. Well, that's true. I don't think the Initiative can really pick who they get. It's kind of random so we get bad people too. [And this sounds exciting and horrible.] They come out during the day? Scary...

I see... It's a pity it's not easier for them to choose who'd really be helpful. Not that I approve of grubnapping people in general.

[She laughs at that.] It would be scarier if they came out at night! To us, at least. I guess it's the other way around for humans. We can't go out during the day anyway, our sun is too hot and bright.

Yeah... hm, but what about the sun here?

I still don't feel entirely comfortable about it? But it's cloudy and rainy so often - going out during the day here is nothing like facing the blazing light I had reason to worry about.
