voice;

[The voice that comes over the tablets sounds calm and collected, masking the panic and fear of the woman speaking.]

I don't know who she was staying with, nor what unit she had been assigned, but if anybody has seen Emma Swan recently, I'd be glad to know. I can't seem to get in contact with her, and though I didn't know her well...

[She has to stop for a moment. It is so, so hard to force her voice not to crack, saying those words.]

Though I didn't know her well, she doesn't seem the type to purposefully make herself unavailable. I suspect she's returned to our home, but I thought it appropriate to inquire about her regardless. Thank you all.

[And then a pause.]

If someone told you about the future that awaits you back home, would you try to change it though it seems set in stone?

"Bit of a--" ( if only eye rolling were audible )

Yeah, and Noah's Ark bobbed around on a bit of a puddle. Being here deserves a bit of hyperbole!

( offended by Snow's apology for... Offending her... What.)

( It is almost worth making this video so that she could give Snow a real look of disgust and rub her temples to full effect, but alas. )

Noah's Ark is a story from the Bible. God flooded the world because humanity was so sinful, and Noah built an ark to house all the animals, two by two, and his family. The whole world was swallowed up in water, and they were in the boat for-- God, I dunno, a while, before a dove bought an olive branch, or some other kind of branch, to show that the world was safe again. And then somehow one family repopulated the entire earth, not sure how that worked out.

( What was she even grumpy about? Whatever. ) Point is, there was a lot of bloody water.

But ignoring how flaming mucked up everything is and putting a gloss on it isn't going to help, either!

( She hates adults!!! They're all useless!!! )

( In a fit of total maturity, Ellie cuts off the communication. Writing it all out helps, getting the record of things and everything that happens, every horrific detail of it, that means it was real and it happened. That means they might be remembered, because God knows they're likely enough to die at any minute. Sometimes she craves it, even.

Never mind that this was talking about someone else, a different context, raging rather than recording. Not being about to get it out, to rant, feels like her voice has been cut off. Terrible things have happened when she was denied the right to speak. It's tied in with all sorts of messes. It's not like Snow said anything wrong, really, but it wasn't a good thing to say to Ellie. )
