[The video feed opens today to a blond young lady, who is looking at her tablet as if she isn't quite sure she's gotten it running. Once she confirms that it is, however, Nill smiles as politely as she can. She'd avoided using the video feature in the Port so frequently that this felt alien to her, and the discomfort shows in her face to some extent, but she needed to start making connections here. Get to know people. She couldn't keep acting as if anyone she talked to would disappear a week later.]

Hello everyone. My name is Nill.

[Her wings flutter awkwardly against her back, visible in the video.]

It's nice to meet you all. I arrived here a few weeks ago, and it's taken some getting used to being here. I'm from a city called Siren's Port in Canada, at the start of 2013. If anyone here recognizes the city, I'd appreciate hearing from you-- as far as I know it doesn't exist in most other worlds.

[She pauses briefly, staring at what she's typed, before she flutters her wings again in another slight, awkward gesture.]

I'm sorry if this method of communication is inconvenient for anyone. I can't speak.

I was hoping some of you could tell me the kinds of weapons you were given here, so I can get an idea of what to expect from my own. It doesn't seem to have changed at all since I arrived here.

I was also hoping to find someone that could help move some files onto my tablet from a device with no connection. I know how to work the tablet just fine on my own, but I'm not familiar enough with it yet to find a way to transfer files. They're very important to me, so any help would be appreciated-- I don't want to wait too long to transfer them.

[She smiles at the camera again, and finally decides that she doesn't know what else to say. It's been a long time since she needed to introduce herself like this, but she's pretty sure that was a good way of going about doing things, while also seeming fairly harmless. Finally satisfied with it, she waves at the camera, and the feed clicks off.]

Yes-- I have something that I brought with me. It's a little bit like the tablets, but not as advanced. It won't hook up to the network here, and I haven't been able to find a charger for it. I've kept it off since I got here-- if I turn it on the battery will run out eventually.

It has several pictures, mp3 files, and text files that are important to me. Do you think you could do anything?

yeah i doubt that will be too much of an issue. you want to drop it by my place and i'll get it back to you in a couple days, tops. i'll put the files on an network-accessible area you can pull them back onto your tablet here.

How much did you want for your help? I don't have a job yet, but I haven't spent much of the money they gave me when I arrived here.

[ He's mostly just hanging out, testing his accuracy with some of the long-range targets, since he's still got some arrows he was making for Clint that he hasn't got anything to do with now. ]

[One fatal flaw in this plan is that Nill has absolutely no idea who she's looking for in this whole thing outside of the name attached to the person replying. It told her that the person she was looking for was most likely a guy, but outside of that, she didn't have a great deal to go on. When she gets to the training courtyard she lingers near the entrance uncertainly, looking over the faces there.]

[ He realizes shortly that it's been a while and stops what he's doing, turns to look around to see if he can see anyone else looking around.

Ah-ha! He makes eye contact, a tilt of his head back a little bit, beckoning, a smile to be more inviting, and then a wave to come over, because she looked particularly tentative, over there by the gate. ]

[reassures]

[Nill looks instantly relieved when someone she doesn't know seems to recognize her. She waves a hand in greeting, before she quickly jogs over to meet him, with an awkward flutter of wings. As soon as she's stopped, she pulls out her tablet, typing up a message on it with practiced ease.]

Hello, Tony.

[fe_male]

[ uhhh, okay. yeah sure. ]

What's up? You don't talk?

[reassures]

[There's another flutter of her wings. He must have just skimmed her post and missed that part.]

I'm sorry. I can't talk.

[fe_male]

[ He totally skimmed right over that part and onto the more interesting one. Text posts out of necessity, who knew. ]

Don't apologize. I bet that saves some friendships. [ hey look there's a little table/ledge thing off to the side for people to set things on - he's just gonna lean the weaponry against it. ] Goods?

[She doesn't comment, but mostly because she's pretty sure it probably did, at least a few times. Instead she takes a moment to pull her NV out of her pocket, and set it out on the ledge. It's a decently-sized touch screen device, and it's already on, the password for it having been taken off before she got here. After, she types on the tablet again.]

It's called a NetVice. The operating system isn't very different from the Tablet, but it won't connect to the network here.

man i am so sorry. work schedule this week was crazy.

[ He picks it up off the ledge - convenient, that, not having to explain the 'don't hand me things' thing - and looks it over, checking out how it works both by interacting with it manually, and getting a sense for it telepathically, at least in as much as he's able to. It doesn't seem too complicated, and he glances over at the tablet to see what she's written after she's finished doing so. ]

Yeah, it looks relatively similar. Maybe a little more indie, a little more Perl. Where'd you get it?

No worries! It was busy for me too.

[It's nothing too spectacular, although it is capable of some holographic projections. Nill has just never used it that way, preferring to keep to simple text responses. Most of the files have been locked, but she's made it so that they're still capable of being moved around. A more polite way of saying "please don't snoop through my things".

It's up to him if he does at some point when he actually gets everything off the device. Nill's encryptions aren't bad, but next to someone like Tony she's a total amateur.]
