I have two questions for everyone.

1) Are there people here who have more than human abilities that can affect other people's minds? And if so, are any of them willing to help others train in resistance of mental interference?

2) How many people here have no experience fighting?

Oh actually 3 questions, I guess. I wouldn't mind finding a few people to spar with, if anyone else is looking. I used to do martial arts as a hobby, so I'm not entirely inexperienced.

I would, were I speaking in the common tongue. We have many names for ourselves in our own languages, but you need not trouble yourself with them.

What's your world like, back home?

Beautiful. You cannot know how much I miss the sight of the earth covered in green grass or the smell of the first flowers of spring. Or even the sound of a stream as it winds its way across the land.

This place must be very difficult for anyone who loves nature to handle?

Something more akin to that, yes.

So does the slang of people around here confuse you, or is it pretty easy to figure out?

Both, each in their turn. Context is a great aid, however there are times when I simply must ask for clarification.

And do you help with - this sort of thing, often?

It is not often asked of me.

Do you know if there's all that many people with experience in it here? I haven't noticed more than - well, you and another lady who's gone. Maybe a few others.

I know of perhaps three others; two among them my kinsmen. My daughter has some degree of the gift, as does her husband.

Have you ever gone looking, while you're here? I mean - mentally. [ Tapping her head. ] For anyone else.

I have not. I could, I suppose. [It's just never occurred to her.]

On the other hand, it lets them know you're here too. Which could be a bad idea, if they've got less scruples about the whole thing.
