[As usual, Galadriel appears on the tablet looking like a queen about to address her people. Taking things far too seriously? Maybe.]

I realize that there has been no shortage of apologies share since the rather unfortunate...disruptions of time. Nonetheless, I feel obliged to offer my own, along with an explanation. I was born as Artanis and for a great many years that is what I was called. There was no deceit intended in any recent introductions, I assure you. It has been long since I have been called by that name, however. Most now know me as the Lady Galadriel and I would prefer to be addressed as such. I regret any confusion this may have caused.

I realize we made certain arrangements whilst I was...not quite myself. While it has been quite some time since I have put my swordwork to serious use, I daresay I am much more skilled at instruction than I once was and a great deal more patient. I will hold to my word, if you wish it.

[Just kidding, this isn’t a real filter. But there is a bottle of the finest wine Galadriel could scrounge up left outside your door with a simple note stating only who it is for and signed "with warm regards- Artanis." She's sorry for the unintended intrusion.]

Do many of your people practice swords?

It is quite common, I should say. We may be more well known among the mortal races for our skill with a bow, but I would be hard pressed to name an Elven man of my acquaintance who cannot wield a blade.

Do you use a bow as well, my Lady?

Not for many years, but I know something of the weapon, yes.

[graciousness]

I have never so much as held one. You have much knowledge, my Lady.

[ but then. ]

Not that I thought that you didn't, I never thought that. Only it's - nice. It's impressive.

[ nice going, Gwen. ]

[She laughs a little at that. Really, Gwen. Breath. You're doing fine.]

I have the advantage of years there. You are young still; there is much time for you to learn.

[graciousness]

I am but a maid, my lady. I doubt I will ever learn the bow. I only know so little of swords but I do admit I know nothing of bow and arrow.

I do not speak only of weapons, child. But I see no reason you should not learn whatever you wish whilst you are here, if there are those willing to teach. Your being a maid has little to do with it.

You're very kind to say so, my Lady. I am only grateful to have a chance to learn how to properly wield a sword. Though I reckon Arthur is more determined about it than I am.

[ a small grin; it is a jest. ]

[A little chuckle] He seems a good man, though I fear he has some reservations about me still.

Arthur may seem a bit stiff but I am certain, my lady, he sees your kindness and wisdom as I do.

Perhaps. I do not begrudge him his caution. He is a prince; it is something of a necessity.

[graciousness]

[ she nods, bites her lip. ]

If only there weren't so many people who tried to hurt Arthur at Camelot. He had seen very dark days.

[She understands that better than she'd like to, really.] They leave their mark.

They do.

[ she frowns for a moment, thinks of the battles and all the perils Arthur wen't through and the dangers he faced. ]

But he will be a wonderful king, once the time comes.

[A little smile] You care a great deal for him.

He had been kind to me.

It is the mark of a great man- to be kind when it is not necessary.

It is. Many of his status would treat me as nothing but a lowly servant but Arthur is very different.
