I realize that there has been no shortage of apologies share since the rather unfortunate...disruptions of time. Nonetheless, I feel obliged to offer my own, along with an explanation. I was born as Artanis and for a great many years that is what I was called. There was no deceit intended in any recent introductions, I assure you. It has been long since I have been called by that name, however. Most now know me as the Lady Galadriel and I would prefer to be addressed as such. I regret any confusion this may have caused.

I realize we made certain arrangements whilst I was...not quite myself. While it has been quite some time since I have put my swordwork to serious use, I daresay I am much more skilled at instruction than I once was and a great deal more patient. I will hold to my word, if you wish it.

Either. Though it was the latter to which I referred.

You don't usually have more than one name for nothing.

But perhaps it's different in your world.

I have three, in fact, and it is not so unusual. There is the fathername, that which is given at birth- Artanis, in my case. There is also the mothername, given to some in childhood and usually a result of insight or foresight.

And yet other names are bestowed as a mark of honor or affection- Galadriel is one such name.

Where I come from, we are usually given one name and expected to wear it all our days.

But I suppose they can get old.
