[A smiling young man stands just outside of the training grounds, setting his tablet up on a crate so he can film himself. Fixing his mantle and his scarf, Coby proceeds to adjust himself accordingly as to look absolutely formal. In terms of addressing the public, he's been educated on how to conduct himself and it seems like his goal to look upstanding and reliable. Straightening his back and then saluting, Coby addressed the tablet with his air of duty.]

Good evening! My name is Coby. I'm a Captain of the Marines and much like the rest of you, I've been brought here to serve and help return the world to order. If at any point you need assistance in your efforts to strengthen yourself or you need a helping hand in battle, think nothing of asking for my aid.

[Down went his hand at his side--Coby bending slightly to bow before the camera. He word a smile, attempting to look as amicable as possible.]

Please rely on me! As a member of the Navy, the safety of the World's citizens is my priority!

[He reached over to turn off the tablet just before the feed cut off.]

Not that I've met, and I've been here awhile. A lotta people can fight, though, so that's something. But a lot don't either. I think the Initiative just picks us at random.

They recruit this way intentionally? Do they even want to save the world?

Tell me about it. Nah, I don't think they can. I mean, I don't put a lotta stock into the shit they do, but if they could only pull soldiers, I think they'd be doin' it. And I wouldn't be here.

That's because we haven't met. [He saluted briefly, smiling.]

[ He grumbles. ]

Perhaps you believe so, but from what I know--Marines come in all shapes and sizes. If we were uniform, it wouldn't be such a strong group.

[He tried his best to look humble, after all.]

The very same! [Coby took a moment to salute, looking a little humbled. This man reminded him of one of the other captains.]

May I ask who you are?

The name is Sky High. While I'm not an enlisted member, I keep my city safe back at home as a hero and will be happy to do so at Exsilium.

That's good to hear. Though, you say 'will'--have you just arrived in the same group as myself? I only just was brought here.

[He lowered his hand, setting it dutifully at his side.]

Ah, it was always my dream to be a Marine and I'm just glad to be of service, sir!

While I appreciate your concern, it's a bit too late.

I've already seen enough things in my life to know how dangerous this situation truly is and even then--so that citizens such as yourself need not expose yourself, I'll do so willingly.

[Add her to the list of people impressed by titles, but she's painfully trying to make it less obvious than everyone else.]

It sounds like the police force would be right up your alley, Coby. [She grins. He has a nice jib. Gib. One of the two.] I'm Hilda.

... There's a police force? [Down that went in his notepad, though Coby looked a smidgen confused. Coming from a military background in which soldiers didn't need to be policed on their own, he could only wonder if it was more than just a military installation he was brought to. It was understandable for citizens to be present, but--]

Oh--sorry. It's nice to meet you, Miss Hilda.

Well, it was just formed recently. [Within the last few months, she gathered?] I'm not really sure what we do, since things usually seem pretty peaceful here, but there was a murder trial the other month and that was pretty neat. It's just something to do if sitting around isn't your style. It's not like we do anything hugely different on missions...

[But she digresses.]

I'm not old enough for a "Miss," so Hilda'll be just fine.

It isn't good to hear that sort of thing. I mean, given that it's a military installation, we shouldn't be dealing with this sort of behavior. [Ideally. On his ship, Coby could never imagine anyone going out of line and killing a fellow member of the Marines. Then again, his Admiral nearly did exactly that to him only a few years ago.]

I'll call you whatever you prefer, at least. I'm aware I may be dealing with numerous different customs.
