[A smiling young man stands just outside of the training grounds, setting his tablet up on a crate so he can film himself. Fixing his mantle and his scarf, Coby proceeds to adjust himself accordingly as to look absolutely formal. In terms of addressing the public, he's been educated on how to conduct himself and it seems like his goal to look upstanding and reliable. Straightening his back and then saluting, Coby addressed the tablet with his air of duty.]

Good evening! My name is Coby. I'm a Captain of the Marines and much like the rest of you, I've been brought here to serve and help return the world to order. If at any point you need assistance in your efforts to strengthen yourself or you need a helping hand in battle, think nothing of asking for my aid.

[Down went his hand at his side--Coby bending slightly to bow before the camera. He word a smile, attempting to look as amicable as possible.]

Please rely on me! As a member of the Navy, the safety of the World's citizens is my priority!

[He reached over to turn off the tablet just before the feed cut off.]

I should do something about this. Are there classes scheduled for teaching in the training halls?

There's a self-defense class that meets up, and there's a training area with some equipment. I spend a lotta time there, myself.

I see! How experienced are the instructors? Do they know specialized techniques?

[And there suddenly--Coby's notepad and pen appeared.]

Uhh... [Damn son you're serious about this] To be honest wit' ya, I don't know. I only ever went to one and it was months ago. I prefer trainin' on my own or with like one other person, not a big group. They specialize in self-defense over offensive stuff, I guess.

I see. Specialization in training 'defense' from the start implies that the lessons are more geared towards beginners than advanced soldiers. [Coby wrote this down along with a number of successive little 'codes' designed to make his note-taking all the easier.]

Have you trained with your weapon or do you fight without one? [This is now a job interview.]

[You are one thorough dude, Coby.] Uh yeah, that sounds about right.

The Initiative didn't give me a physical weapon. I used to fight mostly with my fists, but I've been learning to use knives and blunt weapons since I got here.

Not a physical weapon? [Coby paused, reaching down to pick up his can of soda from the ground. He held it up for the other young man to see.]

N....o. Like, it's not a thing. It's a power or ability or whatever ya wanna call it.

...How did you pick something like that? Or--are you talking about your will itself?

It's somethin' I already had, back home. I was shitty at usin' it, so the Initiative made it so it works better now. It ain't good for combat, but that's okay. I can kick enough ass without it.

If that's so, then I won't have to worry too much about defending you.

Do you need practice as well?

Yeah. I'm pretty much at the training grounds every day. Not much else to do around here.

Sure. I'm always lookin' for an ass to kick. And it ain't "sir", it's Johnny.

You never know. It's best to be polite by a default in my line of work.

[Shrugging, Coby smiled in response. Johnny's arrogance was something he was ultimately used to, so he scarcely heard it.] Then, feel free to see me whenever you're in the training hall.

I plan on being there often.
