[ With Rika being reluctant, the transmission is silent at first. She has to remind herself that there are others like her that have a dead end fate. It's not like home, not like when her own parents refused to take her words seriously.
When she speaks up, her tiny voice is carried across the feed. She sounds sullen and tired. ]
After this war is won, if everyone is returned to their respective worlds, what will happen to those who don't have a future back home? If we were a corpse in the ground, is that what we'd return to being? [ In Rika's case, there aren't many futures left for her. She believes she might as well be dead already. ]
Or is that a question that has yet to be answered with complete certainty? I'm sorry if it has been asked before, but I would like to know.
...If there's a small chance, even a one percent chance that I can reunite with the people most precious to me in this world, then... I think I would prefer to stay here and wait for them.
[ It hasn't happened for her yet, but there's still a little bit of hope in her. And, she's beginning to feel awkward about bringing this sort of subject up. ] ...I'm sorry again if I've said anything strange.

no subject
...I'm sorry. I must be saying strange things again.
no subject
[She supposes this girl is right, though. It doesn't much matter if you think of them as different worlds or different timelines. They still exist.]
no subject
[ Suddenly talking about it now, she couldn't help but feel afraid or continue thinking "I must be a strange child..." ]
[ private; somewhat difficult to hack ]
[But, to say it's strange... Nill isn't sure that's the case at all. She's fairly sure the oddity about it is when people become aware of it.
There's a slight pause, while she tosses up a filter, before continuing.]
It's something that I've had some experience in-- and I've known others who have more experience with it than I do.
What is your name? My name is Nill.
[ private; somewhat difficult to hack ]
Rika. Rika Furude.
[ There might have been a "nice to meet you" if she were in a better mood... ]
I arrived here without knowing a single person. Even the people I've been waiting for from home still haven't arrived. [ Despite being surrounded by different people, she thinks it's still lonely. It's too hard for her to easily accept new friends. ] If we're to be placed in a different world with a new set of faces after this like you said, then... I don't know if I want it. I might wind up alone again, won't I?
[ private; somewhat difficult to hack ]
[She doesn't really take offense at there not being one. She understands not really being in the mood for pleasantries.]
Yes, you might. There's no guarantee you'll see your friends again, either.
I'm sorry. There's nothing I can say about worlds like this that can make them less lonely if there's someone you miss.
