I have a question.  How do you know when someone is flirting with you?  I just do not understand flirting at all so I do not know how to recognize it.  Or how to even flirt.  It never really seemed like such an important thing.  But apparently it is?

I mean, for us sylvari we are blunt.  If we like someone we tell them.  We do not see a reason to beat around the bush, you could say.    But it seems to be a thing the other races do.

[Silence for a few moments, as if she's debating on adding anything else.]

I can't say I've ever heard anyone say that like that.

Oh, and they compliment you a lot, and give your presents. That sort of thing.

I haven't either. At least I do not thing I have. It's hard to say when I'm not really even sure how to go about or tell when other people are flirting.

Hmm...I suppose that makes sense. [She's beginning to realize there are a lot of different ways to go about flirting.]

I...uh, no. I was just curious how to tell if someone else was flirting with me. But it appears it might not be so easy to tell.

I think they'd flirt first, and then ask you out. And then you'd know retroactively.

Yeah...I guess it's something you learn with time. Or maybe if the both of you like each other, you can tell. I don't know.

I'm not even really sure how the whole boyfriend and girlfriend thing is supposed to work? Aside from kissing and stuff how is it any different from being friends. [Although with sylvari even just friends will kiss "and stuff".]
