[ The voice speaking doesn't exactly match the 15 year old kid who's usually talking. It's gruffer and more sardonic than the kid's ever was. ]

Guess it's my lucky day. Got dropped right back in here with all my memories intact.

[ Most of them anyway. He's fuzzy on a whole lot and trying to sort through all this new shit makes his head hurt, but he won't let on to it. He considers reaching out for a minute, maybe trying to address a few people from those memories who might still be there. He doesn't. ]

Since I'm here, might as well do something I've never done before. Where can a guy get a decent drink in this shithole?

Hey, you're welcome! I don't exactly suggest you go get hammered, that's heck on your head the next morning, but apparently it ends up being almost everyone's favorite pass-time around here at least once.

Let me know if you end up being up for anything other than bar hopping, okay? I tried that as a guide for Koltira and Bariyan once and that was hilariously bad except for the part where people kept flying through windows. (That was just funny!)

( That's the worst plan ever okay 8| Not that she knows the only way of running into him is going to end up probably being while she's on the town in morph. Welp. )

[ It's a great plan. She gets a soft sound that might be a laugh.]

( Attempting to normalize... nope. Nope, this is all still weird. Nonetheless, she's willing to make a verbal effort after having argued with a teenage Barnaby for a while.

( Kotetsu keeps trying to steal it, it's very rude. )

[ And he pauses again. It's something he almost doesn't say, something he hasn't said to anyone yet, but given his memories of Collette, maybe he should say it now.]

I'm not the same kid you used to know. A lot's changed.

Things usually do that. Change, I mean.

( Usually with slightly more warning where age was involved, but not so much with events. She knows that much from personal experience, time and again. )

Tell me about it sometime. If this ends up being a thing... you know, long term, I'd still like to know you. Whoever, or whatever, you are now.

( People drift as part of the usual things in life. Doesn't mean she has to accept that from the start. )

[ He's not sure how to respond to that. Mostly, he's pretty sure the reason she's willing to say that is she doesn't know exactly who and what he is. These days, anyway.

He lets his voice get just a little mean. ]

( She ends up rolling her eyes; if that's a warning, she's heard better ones. )

[ He thinks briefly of Collette's powers, how those kinds of powers and the kind of guts she's got could be useful in a fight. Partner, huh...]

I'll keep that in mind.

[She's going to be better off not seeing him again.]

( She wants her voice to sound warm, so she makes sure to say that with a smile. She doesn't know if he will -- it's too hard to predict how people are going to be when years have lapsed one way or the other -- but at least she will.

Ball in his court or not, Collette's not known for a track record of keeping to herself and keeping her nose out of other people's business, for better and for worse. )
