For those of you who may not know me, I’m Nathaniel Howe, one of the newly promoted sergeants of the transport section of the Exsilium city watch. I will do my best to protect the citizens and the transports, and offer my services whenever needed.

However, there is something much more important that I need to discuss. I and my fellow Grey Warden Duncan have just returned from a brief reconnaissance excursion in United Earth territory. We weren’t able to glean very much new information regarding our enemy, but we did procure this:

[Nathaniel holds up a small vial--approximately half the size of a standard test-tube--filled with some unknown liquid]

We found this on one of the citizens of the United Earth, and we have great reason to believe that it contains the drug that is being used to keep the citizens docile, and to prevent them from rising up against their leaders.

Unfortunately, neither Duncan nor myself has been able to determine what exactly is contained in the solution. We are, of course, sharing what we’ve found with the Initiative, but I am also calling on my fellow transports to see if there is anyone who has the knowledge or means to possibly determine what ingredients are in the drug, and to hopefully find an antidote.

If you are interested in helping, please let me know. I’m also willing to answer whatever questions anyone might have about what we learned.



[OOC INFO: So Duncan and Nathaniel have been gone for about a week, scoping out the United Earth territory. The drug they brought back is a very small supply that all citizens are required to carry on them for emergency purposes.

The information provided by our lovely moderators is that no one will be able to determine the chemical make-up of the drug, as it contains futuristic ingredients that none of the transports would be familiar with. BUT! We would love to get some transports involved in trying, either by handwaving or logging or whatever. So yeah, everyone’s free to jump in on this!]

I'm afraid it's not so simple, unfortunately. We only had a brief time to observe the way of things there, not nearly enough to formulate any concrete plans.

But I'd like to hear anything you can tell me about what you saw there - and how you got there - and about that transport section of the city watch.

Wel, the entire police force is headed up by a local by the name of Thom Sorenstam and it's apparently been around for several months. Barnaby Brooks was just made head of the transport force, which just formed up a few weeks ago. He's the best one to ask about specifics.

As far as how we got to the United Earth territory, Duncan and I crossed the ocean by way of boat and then traveled overland by foot. On our way back, though, we commandeered an old automobile. It made the trip back to the coast much faster.

What exactly is a tardis? Some sort of building?

[He stares at the vial in pure disgust. It would seem that the United Earth isn't above using unsavory tactics to quell all resistance.]

There are many plants capable of altering one's mind.

[Aragorn would know since he's quite adept in elven herbology. He has Elrond to thank for that.]

I suspect it may have been crafted from an herb of some kind.

[Aragorn's disgust is definitely justifiable. This is nasty business.]

Believe me, I'm well-versed in mind altering plants. I'm quite skilled at finding antidotes for poisons, but if herbs were used in the making of this, they're not anything I've seen before.

It was. Duncan and I are skilled at not being seen, and the journey itself was fairly uneventful.

Does the Initiative have any guess at the chemical composition? Asking people to break it down into elements is difficult without extensive knowledge of what's available and present on this world.

I'm not sure yet. We've handed over a small sample to the Initiative, but I don't know how experienced they are with these things.

There's also the fact that several transports don't trust the Initiative yet. I thought that by recruiting some of our own to help out as well would make things easier. Quite a few transports are from earth, as well; so they might be familiar with the composition.

I thought it likely would be. I'm not from earth, though, so I'm not that familiar with any of the herbs or what you call chemicals that are here.

I certainly hope so. Though I'm surprised there are so many here who don't understand how real and dangerous a threat the United Earth is to us.

I'm not entirely sure if that was the same drug or not, to be honest.

This one is, I believe, the drug that Charles Xavier found out about after capturing a middle-ranking official from United Earth. The citizens are apparently forced to take it every day or go into horrible withdrawals.
