For those of you who may not know me, I’m Nathaniel Howe, one of the newly promoted sergeants of the transport section of the Exsilium city watch. I will do my best to protect the citizens and the transports, and offer my services whenever needed.

However, there is something much more important that I need to discuss. I and my fellow Grey Warden Duncan have just returned from a brief reconnaissance excursion in United Earth territory. We weren’t able to glean very much new information regarding our enemy, but we did procure this:

[Nathaniel holds up a small vial--approximately half the size of a standard test-tube--filled with some unknown liquid]

We found this on one of the citizens of the United Earth, and we have great reason to believe that it contains the drug that is being used to keep the citizens docile, and to prevent them from rising up against their leaders.

Unfortunately, neither Duncan nor myself has been able to determine what exactly is contained in the solution. We are, of course, sharing what we’ve found with the Initiative, but I am also calling on my fellow transports to see if there is anyone who has the knowledge or means to possibly determine what ingredients are in the drug, and to hopefully find an antidote.

If you are interested in helping, please let me know. I’m also willing to answer whatever questions anyone might have about what we learned.



[OOC INFO: So Duncan and Nathaniel have been gone for about a week, scoping out the United Earth territory. The drug they brought back is a very small supply that all citizens are required to carry on them for emergency purposes.

The information provided by our lovely moderators is that no one will be able to determine the chemical make-up of the drug, as it contains futuristic ingredients that none of the transports would be familiar with. BUT! We would love to get some transports involved in trying, either by handwaving or logging or whatever. So yeah, everyone’s free to jump in on this!]

It's less about them looking vastly different from us, and more about them looking almost exactly like each other. Almost as if it was just one or two people copied over and over again. That and their almost complete lack of any sort of facial expression made it nearly impossible for us to blend in.

And this drug you found probably made them that way?

If I'm right about what this is, then yes. There was a man here a few months ago named Charles Xavier. He and some others managed to capture one of United Earth's officials. That's how we found out about the drug.

Really? This official actually told the truth?

Not willingly, no. Charles was... I believe it's called a telepath? He was able to read this man's mind.

Oh, I see. Here I thought we were just here to change stuff in the past, but it seems like there's plenty going on in the present to keep us occupied.

Oh, there are plenty of things to keep one occupied, that's for certain.

Is that something you do often?

Here in Exsilium? No. I've kept my information-gathering to exploring the areas around the Hold. No danger there, other than the occasional wild animal.

Really? Like wolves and deer?

Precisely. Though they seem to be different from the sorts of animals I'm used to. The birds are extremely large, larger than any I've ever encountered. There are deer, but they have different colorings and markings than I'm used to.

Oh, that sounds weird. Like maybe evolved species, huh?

Maybe. Or possibly corrupted in some way.

Oh. [She cringes.] I guess that's a possibility too. Though either side might be responsible for that.

I wouldn't put it past either of them. This land has been ravaged from the war the United Earth has been waging, though I don't know how long that's been going on.

I can't remember. It might have said on this tablet somewhere. I've seen a map of the world, though. The shape of the continents have changed, so it's been changed through lots of destructive weapons.

What kind of weapon could change the shape of entire continents? Even the bomb that was detonated over Exsilium didn't do that much damage to the land.

Something massive. Like a constant barrage of hydrogen bombs maybe. Maybe it's been written about in a history guide to this place?

Possibly. it would be interesting to look into. The library has quite a colection of history books; I've barely been able to scratch the surface.

Oh, I should check that out. Libraries usually have all the answers, even if it takes some digging. And it's not like I have anything better to do.
