[Okay, Exsilium. Hilda's kept quiet on the network so far, although she's commented to other people. She's chiefly been out to familiarize herself over the past month with the city, among other-- things.

(Like settling Victini in, and finding somewhere to put him if she should leave.)

She's ready today, though, to ask a few questions of her own. Those get pretty nice responses, right? The more philosophical the better. Which would be good if she was the philosophical type, but she isn't. She smiles, because even if she can't ask a meaning of life question she can at least look friendly.]

People get dragged out and go back in time to fight, right? [It's rhetorical. She's already been to the past, during the masquerade. She knows it's possible.] Is there a way to volunteer for that kind of thing?

[The smile slips into a small frown, as she realizes that fighting blindly in a foreign world probably isn't the easiest thing. Time for a little advice getting.]

And if you've been out like that, can you tell me what it's like? Unova hasn't had a huge war since the twin brothers, so I'm pretty much a Basculin out of water.

That would be the smart thing, wouldn't it! I'm, er, sure the other trainers here have thought of the same thing and probably would, but Iiiii can't say I'd like the idea!

[There's a strain to her voice. She loves Pokemon battling.

I understand... Hilbert said that Eeks was a friend to him. I would never make my friends do anything that would put them in danger.

I wonder if they'll just do it when push comes to shove... Pokemon like battling a lot, and they're incredibly loyal to their trainers. They'd protect them at any and all costs.

[...more reason to not actually bring Victini on dangerous missions, if she can help it.]

So... you want to protect your Pokemon this time.

[ Hell, if it were her, she would have done the same. ]

It's one I've sworn to, so... Yeah.

It's strong, but I don't want it out fighting with us.

Which weapon did you choose upon arrival? If it is the sword, I can teach you what I know.

It's called a halberd. It's more of a spear than a sword, but they both have blades so you can still help a little, right?

[Allen also taught her some close combat techniques, but- yes. She'll fetch her weapon to show Kougyoku.]

The way one wields a halberd is rather different from my style. [ Since she mostly uses attacks that slice and pierce. ] You could the use the pike head to pierce enemies and keep them at bay, but it is more versatile than that. The shaft is used to block sword attacks - and look, it has an ax blade. This is what you use to deal heavy damage to your opponent.

[ She studied this before in books. She's got this. ]

Still... You will need a side arm for close combat, preferably a short sword or a dagger. That is where I can help you! [ hairflip! ]

[Ohhh, she ssees. She inspects each part as Kougyoku describes them, then turns her attention back to the feed when she mentions a side arm.]

A short sword or a dagger... It feels like we're going back to the days of old. [Well, halberds are pretty there too.] You wouldn't mind teaching me once I get one of them, right? I promise I'm not a slow study.

Hilbert. [She gives a fake swooning sigh, leaning against her palm like any stereotypical love-sick girl.] Oh, Hilbert!

[ DON'T SWOON!!! ]

Hilbert... H-Hilbert's been nothing but kind to me, I suppose. That, would lend to his charm but... he's a friend, so I shouldn't...

[ shouldn't what!? she places a finger on her lips, hesitant to go on. ]

[realady]

You shouldn't fall head over heels for him?

[That is a fairly good plan of action, and one she plans on sticking to the best she can.]

He's a good guy, you know. I wouldn't blame you.

[It is a little hard to believe Hilda's younger than her...]

I won't, don't worry. The last thing I need is him coming to my apartment and sighing over having a girlfriend, after all.
